One of the worst hyped game i've played in a while..the trailer was amazing tho.

It is pretty average, but at $9 a copy (when splitting a 4-pack between mates) some might think it's worth a go

Yep, got a 4-pack for the bargain :) Plus wasn't this still hovering around the $50-60 mark prior to this sale?

Wasn't great as a single player, but alot of fun with the same 4 people working through the story.

This. I really enjoyed the multiplayer. It wasn't anywhere near borderland levels, but was very fun anyway.

so true. The game was ok with friends, but my god that trailer might of as well been for a completely different game, with zombies ofcourse. And they completely took all elements from borderlands.

  • Been playing it on the XBox. I actually consider it a very good game. It's somewhat unpolished and theres still bugs there, but ultimately I've found it to be a lot of fun which in the end of the day is what matters.

Personally I'd recommend it. It's not as refined as either Borderlands or Left 4 Dead, but it's also fairly unique in its own right, particularly the very heavy focus on melee combat as opposed to gun fights.

…? Why's that? View bobbing can't be turned off?

    • Bobbing is extreme. If someone knows how to turn it off that would be awesome but I haven't seen any options for it.

  • Why don't more games have closed captions available. .. we played left 4 dead 2 at my workplace for a bit and one of my colleagues is hearing impaired and the closed captions really helps [you can't type and smash zombies]. I have been looking for another co-op game we could enjoy on the odd Friday afternoon but its almost impossible to find one that has CC [closed captions].

    • Valve, to my knowledge, is the only PC game company that bothers to make CC for their games.

  • I have played Dead Island only in single player mode, found it really enjoyable.

The world was larger than I expected, the storyline is better than average, horror everywhere…

Despite the few glitches, nice game :)

Bought the 4-pack for $20 when there was a pricing error on Steam a few months back. Worst $5 I spent on a game honestly.
