    120kg frame also available. link
Anyone have experience with their frames?

  • what is the depth and width of the table?

    • +3

as stated: “ Note: No desktop included, Frame only”

    • +3

      frame only

  • +2

I can see now this exact frame is $268 at Bunnings. This is not much of a deal at al (without eBay Plus it's actually slightly more expensive).

    • From what i can see is bunnings no longer sells it despite it being on their site it says no longer stocked

    • +1

Sorry but I can't see the $268 price of this frame at Bunnings, could you please share the link? Thanks

  • Where do we get a good table top for this?

    • I got mine from ikea - i really like it

      • +1

would you mind share a link to yours? thanks

        Solid wood or what?
It would be great if you give a bit more details which on e you got.

bought mine from a local store named chairforce https://chairforce.com.au/product/rectangle-rafael-timber-table-tops-rubberwood/. absolutely love it.

i'm looking at the same one but in walnut.. good to know you're happy with it

      • How do you attach it to the frame? Do you just make your own screwholes and screw it in?

        • yep. measure, mark, drill and then screw in.

I got a 1500mm wide white melamine desktop from Officeworks for $80. They don't advertise the tops as a separate item on their web site, but when you go in-store all their sit-stand desks are sold with two boxes: 1 for the frame and 1 for the desktop. I just asked a salesperson if the desktop would scan as a separate item, and it did. It's pre-drilled on the bottom to suit their own frames, but that didn't bother me as I don't see the holes. It's a nice, solid build with a quality melamine finish.

If you want the ultimate cheap 'n cheerful then just go to Bunnings for an unfinished door for under $50. The only trouble with these is they have a thin outer skin and won't be as solid, so be careful with weight.

      • fantastic share - thanks!

      • Was wonder if the officeworks melamine solid and sturdy? Was wanting to attach a monitor arm, I currently have an IKEA top and they feel abit flimsy. TIA

        • I've got a two-arm monitor stand attached with a bolt straight through the top, and it certainly feels sturdy enough with 2x 24" screens dangling off the ends. I would imagine a clamp-style would be the same. When I measured the desktop the actual thickness of it is 23mm. How does that compare with the IKEA top?

      • Cheap and cheerful is an actual panel that's actually fit for purpose. https://www.bunnings.com.au/products/building-hardware/timbe…

        • I looked at those to begin with but the widest I could find in the affordable end of the range was only 600mm, which is a little too narrow for me. The door is 820mm wide, which is much better for desk space IMHO. If you scour local secondhand building supplies shops you could probably find a solid timber door for under $100 which would also have the benefit of a lot of 'character'; again, I did this and wasn't able to find one that I liked, hence why I went with the Officeworks top in the end (plus, I'd run out of patience…).

      • Wow. Thank you for the tip.

    • I bought a jarrah coffee table from market place like $30 and used the top - turned out beautiful.

Minimum Height: 69cm is a shame.
Kids won't be able to utilise this desk. :(

    • Why not? Buy them an adjustable chair and a footrest…

This is a cheap frame - only 2 telescoping pieces in the legs rather than 3. As such the maximum height is less than double the minimum height.

The price isn't all that impressive for a desk with limited range.

      • Can't agree with you more.

      • This is a cheap frame - only 2 telescoping pieces in the legs rather than 3.

I saw 3 sections variants on eBay which looks very much the same like this one.
        Looks lien generic nonane frame.
        Are these Ok quality wise?

        • I've got two different generics with 3 telescoping pieces off ebay. Both a little different in construction but clearly the same controller and motors. The controller and motor works fine for home use. They work at the same speed as my expensive one at work (Linak brand).

        • Good any links? I’m still thinking of getting one of these.

I’d have thought that 2 telescoping pieces is better than 3 because then it’s less mechanical links which results in less potential wobbles. But good quality 3 links is probably better…

  • Pretty good quality table, easy to install. Highly recommanded

  • I need about 130cm for a proper height for me. Sigh the hard part of being tall. Well, one of the hard parts!

  • Can a corner desk top be installed on this one ?

    • I wouldn't do it. The unsupported side would likely sag and cause the frame to flex, which would result in the motors getting out-of-sync, leading to excess wear or jamming…I suspect it would vastly shorten the life of the unit if you did that. I'd suggest getting a proper corner desk with another leg under the return.

Cheap motors, small frame, small range of adjustment, relatively. But if it suits your needs, sweet.

See https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/663574#comment-11343134 for discussion on quality options.

    • had a quick look… Anything that is decent under $300 delivered even if its just the frame? Something that can do 120kg, dual motor and memory preset?

    • do linak frames ever sell for less than 750? lol

  • +2

Good for tax time but just a reminder cannot claim this if you choose to claim fixed rate 52cents per hour for home office

    • I think you meant to say if you choose 80 cents method.

      • If you do any cents per hour method, cannot claim office furniture, 80c or 52c. The only way to claim office furniture is the actual expense

  • What am I supposed to do with a frame

    • +1

      Put a picture in it.
      Right?

  • +1

Might be a silly question but why would there be a size limit on the tabletop, is it just for stability?

  • I see that the complete tables offered by this seller also have the coupons applicable for use, are they worse value/quality than procuring your own tabletop and using just the frame, when comparing like-for-like (colour/material)?
