  • Have one cheap but won’t recommend, the pipe is so narrow and occasionally no jet stream (could be the water pressure problem but awkwardly inconvenient). And more importantly the water filter is nowhere to be found (even Banggood itself is not selling them).

  • Can't recommend the whale spout version. Very pricy and broke after 1.5 years. I've read comments of the product malfunctioning after a similar period..

    • Isn't that what everyone said about the Smartmi? This is made by Uclean.

      • +2

I have 2x Smartmi which both broke within 2 years. The whale spout is still going after 4 years, no issues with it so far.

      • Might be. At a glance they look similar so it could've fooled me (in which case, my bad)

    • I had the original Smartmi, which died after 2 years (this is the way). Bought a Whale Spout as I hadn't heard of any issues. Far better features than the Smartmi, you can even turn it on his the app when someone else is taking a carp, if you are particularly malicious. It's huge though, make sure it'll fit on your toilet.

      • I want this. We have a toilet with all pipes internal and seemingly not accessible anyway to confirm fit or suitability?

        • Same here. I am unable to find a way unless breaking the tiles. Looks like all modern construction are done this way.

Had mine for 2+ years with the only issue being the soft close on the lid is no longer soft. Love it.

    Thanks OP.
Been waiting for this one to drop in price last couple months.
Lowest price has been $230+ so happy to pay a little extra as old xiaomi toilet seat crapped it self lol

    Great work

Would the Bunnings ones be a better buy? https://www.bunnings.com.au/evekare-smart-bidet-toilet-seat-…

    • +1

You would at least have local warranty support

      • +1

The AU version would have local warranty too. There is the overseas (none AU complaint) model you may be referring to

        • Who would warrant it?
And are they as good as Bunnings? I doubt it

          • +1

@dasher86: probably not as good as bunnings.
The seller warrants it. If you buy the AU model, its likely an AU seller.
The AU model has the mandatory 'watermark' stamped accessories.
            https://watermark.abcb.gov.au/consumers/what-watermark
and also the back-flow protector. I wouldn't want to live in a neighbourhood with people installing these things without back-flow protection. Totally illegal and potentially dangerous. In Australia, we are futunate enough to be able to drink water from the tap. Without a back-flow, someone's 'poo' bacteria/virus may get into our drinking supply.

            • @Skullytor: My plumber explained that only uncertified bidets require a plumber to fit a (pretty expensive) back flow protector at the mains . This model has now received the relevant certification indicating design precludes any possibility of contaminated water making it into the mains… you can find this in previous posts by local sellers of this model.

              • @simulacrum: That's why I wrote 'AU model'. The AU model had the backflow protection included

    • Whale Spout has a air filter. I thought I had covid when I couldn't smell any effluent.

  • Sorry - Noob question, can someone pls guide as to how to install this?!

Will an electrician be required for the power supply and or plumber for fixing it?

    • +1

Hi, I have one of these kind of toilet seats (not this exact one) and was all ready to install it but never actually did yet. But from memory it had a normal wall plug so no electrician needed and it was pretty much ready to screw right into to water fitting on the toilet, except for this little one way water valve thing (that technically it already works without) and that you can apparently get easily from somewhere like Bunnings and just put on yourself, so no plumber needed either.

I hope that gives you some idea, sorry I can't tell you more.

    • Check out the vid on the bunnings link posted by @The 10th Doctor above. Gives you an idea whats involved.

Nope ad long as you have a power socket and a water outlet (can use the same one the toilet is plumbed to) within reach.

  • +1

so you're telling me, when someone sits down on my toilet I can remotely squirt their bum lol ?

    • Yes. If you hate your mother in law…

    • You can also put in smart lights in the toilet to turn off the lights as well….

      much fun to be had.

      • "disco crap"

  • Keep your paper handy as with this electricity load shedding becoming a thing these seats won't be able to carry out their noble task!

  • "Pulse massage, give you a new experience"

    OK

  • I got a non electrical bidet from amazon for ~$30. Works well, though doesn't quite fit my toilet seat.

Bought 2 but where can I find this wall mount control unit? @Clear please post a deal and i'll buy 2

I don't want to have to install mirrors on both the vanities

Yes I’ve been trying to track down the same

  • I've bought one of this using the coupon. Just installed it today and doesn't look like Xiaomi Home app recognises the bidet… Was it a wrong advertisement?

    • Make sure app region is China

      • Thanks for the suggestion.

I've tried to change region to "Chinese Mainland", there was no "China" region. No difference, Xiaomi Home just couldn't scan for any device. When I scanned the QR code on the bidet/power plug, the app said "unknown qr code"…
