Best Current Parcel Forward Service (US to AU)

Hi all,

I'm looking at some way to get things sent from USA to AUS from sellers that only ship to USA (Mercari etc), specifically for squishmallows.

Anyways, there are some other forum posts about this topic but they are for the most part 5-10 years old and i wondered if i could ask the community for advice on what a good service would be to choose for such usage?

OzB has a list of them here:

But i have no idea what is good or not and was hoping for some recommendations?

Thanks in advance :)

  • MyUS is one service, but bear in mind they (as do other forwarders) will also add GT to the value of the goods plus shipping.

    • Forgive my ignorance please but what is GT?

He meant GST. Also you need to consider import duty if the value of your goods are over 1000 AUD

  • Shipito run insurance scams so suggest avoiding them. I use USGoBuy when I can't ship direct. They have an address in Oregon which is a sales tax free state so you'll save yourself ~7% compared to a state with tax.

    • What are shipito upto? I used them for 6 or so years, religiously, until 2-3 years ago.

They were once awesome, until they sold to new owners

      • I think I've posted details here before but the short version is if you insure a package they don't actually insure it, just pocket the extra. If something goes wrong and you need to make a claim they just say the carrier denied the claim and cut off any further communication on the matter. I caught them out.

        • Ah ok thanks.

They were brilliant years ago until their founder sold out/they dropped tnt.

          Then it went to crap.

  • Hi Lggemo,

You can buy squishmallows from big-w, Kmart and ebay.. Unless you are after ones not available here

    Regards,

    Mick

    • Sadly Australia doesnt get many good ones, some are exclusive to Gamestop in the US or UK stores like Claires so you can only really get them there. Already tried ebay, facebook marketplace, gumtree, there is not a great range compared to other countries unfortunately : /

Planet Express, I was really happy with their service

    • Thanks! I read an article strongly recommending Planet Express but i wasn't sure if it was just paid content or not, so having someone else recommend it is helpful to me.

Have used 'reship' a few times but not for awhile.

I use ShipMyCards as a Card Collector - but use them for any items. For larger items (jerseys etc) it costs me a $5 storage fee per item. They photograph and upload to a portal and from here you can combine all items and ship them together via Fedex to AU at discounted rate (Just shipped 14KG for $200)
