Linking 2 Standing Desks to The Same Controller

Hey all, just wondering if anyone has experience with linking 2 sit/standing desks to the same controller.

I currently have one of these.

Would I be able to buy a second identical set of legs and use an RJ45 duplicator like this

https://www.amazon.com.au/Ethernet-Connectors-Interface-Keys…

So I link them to use the same controller? I'm 99% sure the controller is an RJ45 plug.

Ethernet splitters don't send the same signal to both ports, they basically split the cable in two which is why they're limited to a max 100mbps. So, no that won't work. I suppose for this application you could splice a cable yourself to do the job.

    • Thankyou apsilon, What about something like this.

      https://cablematic.com/en/products/replicator-1-rj45-female-…

      8-pin RJ45 connector duplicator, with pin-out pin-to-pin.
That is, each of the input pins is duplicated in the same order in each of the two output RJ45-Female connectors

      • If their description is correct then it should work assuming the desk legs themselves work as you think.

RJ45 splitter wont work if they are communicating using RS-232 protocol like this implementation.

    • Thanks for the link to the article avoidfullprice

    • It's the exact same controller as mine.

Won't you feel like a James Bond villain having both your desks rise at the same time?

All I need now is a cat and some lackys who cant aim well.

Not sure this is a wise idea. Artiss products aren’t known for quality and you may get cheap motors with varying output that move the tables at different speeds. You’ll then have mismatched heights and unable to adjust one alone.
