Good question
as stores are individually managed would there be no sales? the stores could easily change to betta, or home electrix?
If they change, they will probably have to carry differnt model numbers, so it could happen even if they remain going concerns.
Bound to happen. Had a mate let slip a while ago he was getting out of Retra, once he found out suppliers weren't getting paid by Retra Southern head office. Same thing Clive Peeters did….stopped paying suppliers, staff and managers couldn't order stock for customers, then boom, all gone.
Hope all the staff find new jobs…retail is poo at the moment.
update: http://www.current.com.au/2012/05/21/article/Retravision-Sou…
keep in mind this probably only means the independently owned stores, most of which are in country locations, invited to join..
Lets not get overzealous about who is in administration just yet.
This administration currently only affects Retravision Southern, the central buyer and brand manager for 104 independantly owned stores in VIC, NSW and TAS.
It does not mean that actual stores are in administration, particularly given that they are independantly owned. It also does not affect the Western or Northern central buyer and brand manager arms.
The issue now is in the 104 stores now needing to source their goods from alternative suppliers. I am sure Retravision will have a contingency plan in place soon - perhaps even use their other buyers in Western and Northern locations?… who knows, too early to tell.
Again, it is NOT the stores in administration. It is a shame we have a couple of people asking when they are having sales given people are losing their jobs and probably more. You will be dissapointed.
I personally hope the staff (approx 35) affected at Retravision Southern are able to secure alternative employment and the 104 stores are able to secure purchasing and brand/advertising support very soon.
So you are saying my chances of feeding on the carcass and getting a cheap fridge are slim to none?
@Jetstar777 is right. My local Retravision (Eastwood, NSW) is getting rebranded to a Betta Electrical store to source their goods from Betta.
When are the sales coming?
