  • Did Amazon US stop being cheap or something? They used to be like $60 regularly. Perhaps without body attachment though?

    • That is the regular model, still available at $59 at shavers, that's for face and lighter motor.
      https://www.shavershop.com.au/philips/oneblade-010128.html

      • They've had the pro similar price point iirc. Although maybe a different pro if you're talking of a bigger motor?

        • I got this model I think, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/650675.
Not convinced the posted one is worth the price difference, mine has a battery that last month's and can shave body without issue, I assume it uses the same blades too…

          • @bboT: Yes that's the one I was thinking of

            • @justtoreply: IMO, I think the extra $40 is worth it. The main differences are the included body comb and skin protector, 1 hour charging time vs 4 hours, 90 minute battery life vs 60 minutes, adjustable comb attachment vs 3 click on stubble combs and a battery indicator.

              • @wombat1955: The one I linked (QP6510/20 for $59) has a 12-step comb and a battery indicator. 60 min runtime is a lot when you only use it for 30-60 seconds a day. Whether it charges in 1 hour or 4 is useless to me, either way it's charged when I next come back.

Not really sure where the value is in paying almost double the price. But maybe the other model is discontinued now, not sure.

                • @bboT: Yes, you're right. I was comparing it to the one linked to The Shaver Shop. According to the Philips web page, the model you linked is indeed discontinued.

    • Cheapest i've seen the body blade kit is $28 and you get the nicer to hold more powerful unit

  • Been using this for two years, honestly it’s pretty great for trimming. Can’t vouch for clean shavers.

    • In the two years, how many blade replacements have you needed to purchase?

  • Still have the original but decided to try the braun series 9. One blade definitely gives a better shave than series 9.

  • +1

These things are amazing - i have ridiculously sensitive skin and its the first thing ive used that can at least look like a clean shave and not leave me red.

  • +1

Perfect timing, I've been wanting to upgrade my 2 cheap Aldi trimmers I own.

  • Anyone used these with really thick facial hair? I have one of the other phillips ones, and it is useless on my hair. Thinking of going back to a Wahl.

    • +1

I just bought one. I wouldn't say my beard is really thick overall but it is quite thick around my chin and moustache areas and this just made easy work of it. In fact my beard has never been so evenly trimmed in my life, I never thought how bad my other clippers were doing until I used this. This thing is amazing.

  • Did anyone else notice theirs was just the Face kit not Face & Body? By that I mean, mine didn't come with the green body attachment as it was only the Face kit. Still $99 though. Wondering if I somehow grabbed the wrong one or if others ended up with the same as me?

    • Nevermind, I'd taken it out in the other room earlier and forgot about it 🤦‍♂️

      • +1

lol, s**t happens, the guard for the sensitive area is so worth it

  • so just FYI, after reading blurbs on Costco site and looking on Amazon:
this is not "Philips Oneblade Pro Face+Body" which is higher spec
this is "Philips Oneblade Pro Face" and "OneBlade Body Kit"
can get this version for $99 on Amazon but without the body kit - $30-50 for the body kit ?

    • Yeah that's what threw me off when I took out the body kit separately (then forgot I'd done so) and was left with the box saying "Face" only. They simply tacked on the body addon.

But at the end of the day, we get both so who cares right? It's a bloody good trimmer.

    • Yes, but It works good for the body too with the add-ons. So yeah, why spent more
