Not the greatest quality leather cases on the market, especially compared to the old Apple leather cases, but still a decent price for something that doesn't go on sale often. Not all colours/models:

Like every Apple-designed case, it undergoes thousands of hours of testing throughout the design and manufacturing process. So not only does it look great, it’s built to protect your iPhone from scratches and drops.

Thousands of Apple employees tested this for an hour, so you just can’t go wrong with this magical case!

RRP $95. What's even crazy is there are def more than a few people paying at that price

There’s a reason that Apple is a so-called “luxury” brand — the quality can’t be matched. These cases are made from a single piece of stretched cow… grass fed… in the picturesque Swiss Alps… or maybe some ranch in Texas

This is what I saw in the email for your reply. You had me in the first half

Agree these new Apple leather cases are just shithouse. They age very poorly compared to their old Apple leather ones. Just crap.

    • +1

By age poorly you mean the patina looks bad or the leather detaches from the shell or something else…?

      • +2

        I didn't downvote you.

The patina on the new ones doesn't develop evenly. It doesn't look like leather. Dodgy cost cutting means the material is not as good.

Also, the volume button area broke on my one. Just poor quality.

        • Thanks, that’s disappointing. I got a used one for my XS and it’s amazing, had planned to spring full retail when I eventually upgrade it’s so good.

      • I have one for the iPhone 12 Pro Max. I've had zero issues with the physical integrity of mine after 18 months. No peeling or button issues, etc.

The patina is uneven however and it's aged in a relatively splodgy manner where there's sort of clusters of darker spaces and then a lot of leather that's a very different colour. My case is the dark blue so I think it looks fine enough in the end of the day, but seen a fair few reviews of cases released for the 12 showing the tan (brown) one that used to be the model to get to develop a lovely patina and that simply doesn't seem to happen any more.

Basically I'd still recommend the darker coloured ones where the patina will be less pronounced anyway. Don't expect tan or other lighter colours to age gracefully like they used to.

As a related note but my Apple Wallet I got at the same time had the edging erode or peel away, however the wallet and leather still seems to be held together just fine none the less and there's no fraying to anything I can observe at the edges where this has happened. Still, those don't age the best either in that respect.

          Good to know, ta.

$79 no deal for a case, I remember telstra sold apple cases for $10

Not worth it, i had one and returned it, quality is really low

    • actually its a great case in winter

      • Why?

        • -1

not as sticky/clamy, feels good, was my main issue

          • @[Deactivated]: Feels el cheapo, more like a silicon case, got a crease after one day, at %95 is the worst vfm possible.
The fact that apple's silicon cases are even worse vfm and worse quality doesnt make this right

@nikoris: mine was free can't complain, mainly use a nomad rugged black anyway
maybe stick to whingepool, tip don't use same username on forums lol

              • @[Deactivated]: Why not use same username? So what if I’m the same person lmfao

                • -1

@nikoris: because you post the same negative apple stuff everywhere lol

  • just buy from apple online, when you get it ring up and ask for a return they let you keep it and give refund, works every year lol

  • I never pay more than Daiso price for my phone covers but for the first time I went with the Apple leather case (don’t ask me why, must be something wrong with me) for my iPhone 13 mini. Big regret. It looks so dirty on the screen edges and is also peeling off a little and I’ve only had it less than 4 months.

    • And some people call this ‘patina effect’ smh

  • I have the case, my thing is that now the iPhones are so beautiful I prefer the clear case to show it off. I’ve had a black phone pretty much on everything I have bought that is modern (iPhone 3GS onwards).
The new max so nice to me I branched out and got the gold. Stunning in hand but I felt the matching dark purple case just made it look like a another slab.
Agree with the other comments. Leather is pathetic compared to say the leather from the iPhone 6S/7 days.

The silicon midnight only $43.95 with free delivery for prime

  • I have a few different cases for the iPhone 13 PM including the Apple leather, apple silicone, Tech21, Otterbox etc.

The Apple leather is not the best leather quality (try nomad, bullstrap or decoded instead ) but it feels the slimmest and nicest to hold in the hand. That’s a big deal to me as the phone itself is already quite wide and bulky.

I’ve also used it since day 1 in September 2021 and don’t have issues with peeling or damage. The colour (originally Sequoia green) has darkened a bit but it doesn’t look too bad to me.
