Sealing exposed brick

Hello Oz Builders,
We recently modified a roof space into a storeroom. In this space is an old chimney chute which is made out of brick (old pressed bricks).
The brick is dusty upon touch and I think the mortar does crumble slightly when touched.
What is the best way to seal this brickwork to stop it from dusting away / crumbling?
We want a clear coat.
Is something like this ok?

Thank you

You want something that is specific for bricks and/or pavers and not for sealing plasterboard or paint like the one you linked to.

When you go into the inspirations paint shop ask them what is best and grab it.

    • Thanks! That was mainly for the link only as we don't have an inspiration paint near us. It does mention brick as one of the many products but maybe the product apsilon mentioned is more appropriate.

    Get a brick sealing product?

  • I was going to say just paint it but if you want it clear then that limits your options. Anyway, you need a brick sealer. This says it's clear but I've never used it: https://www.bunnings.com.au/crommelin-4l-brick-and-render-wa…

    • Thanks!

    Watered down Bondcrete?

    • Interesting! But we would prefer clear. Thank you.
Actually sorry it seems to dry clear.

    • Watered Down PVA Glue is the same thing I think? not sure if cheaper.

As above Bondcrete diluted in a cheap garden sprayer, and sprayed on.

    Plus 1 for Bondcrete
