This is a better deal imho if you don't need international calling. Amaysim uses optus' full 4g network from my understanding and I've found it to be superior to Coles where I live in Metro melb.

Yeah there's a retail network which amaysim and Optus have access to and there's wholesale which Coles and other operators have access to. Speed differences and coverage differences.

        • Telstra has different network setups but not Optus. I'm very interested if optus has moved to a Telstra-like setup. Do you have a source?

      • yes Im with coles mobile and there is no signal even in my local bunnings

    • Can we move to this if already on amaysim?

I don't think that's correct. Telstra wholesale gives significantly less coverage than Telstra retail but Optus has always provided full access to all of their towers to its MVNOs. They even provide access to Vodafone customers to roam in some remote locations.

I been using this plan for last 10 months in Sydney. The reception is no good and always lost data connection.wait until finish this plan, I will definitely change to other cheap provide!

  • I’m on this plan and occasionally an outbound mms, regardless of what time I sent it, will be delivered at a very inconvenient time (e.g. 4am). Rather embarrassing. I won’t be back for more.

  • Optus works better in Melbourne and Telstra works better in Sydney. If you are in regional areas, I find Telstra the best.

With Coles Mobile you get great value and coverage!

Coles Mobile is powered by the Optus 3G and 4G mobile network, which covers 98.5% of the Australian population.

    Check your device can access Optus 3G (UMTS 2100 MHz / 900 MHz) network or Optus 4G Plus (LTE 700 / 1800 / 2100 / 2300 / 2600 MHz).

Coverage availability will vary depending on your device and location. Having network issues? Check network status.

Explore our interactive coverage map to see what coverage is available in your area.

  • Agreed that amaysim is better. Wws is even worse than coles in our area.

  • I am already with coles, can I move my number to this sim ? Is it possible for existing users or I have to change number ? Please help

    • if you want this deal for the next recharge for the same number, you probably can get a recharge for even cheaper. Just login to your account closer to the day your plan expires and see if you have a discount of about 20-25%. See this comment from a previous post.

I am on the same boat and got a 20% discount :)

  • Any deal for recharge?

  • FYI, the amaysim plan that is $99 does not include international calls and text. I got caught out and now I’m stuck on this plan

  • I tried Coles Mobile not that long ago. Absolute junk. Sending a photo via SMS is hit and miss, and it feels like 3G when surfing. Very slow and clunky… not worth the savings here.

  • I have been with Coles Mobile since July last year. The quality of coverage and 4G have decreased. I won't continue with it. (I live in Melbourne inner suburbs)

  • Also had bad experiences with Coles mobile. Terrible coverage and slow speeds where there is coverage. Boost has been much better.

  • Can we pick up local store?

    • +1

Yes. When scan a local store comes down to 99

  • I noticed my Coles prepaid 60gig(due to expire early July) says renew for $96 now.
Which is nice considering the unused data rollover.

  • If I buy now, how much time I have to activate?

  • You have 30 days to activate

  • The deal is still active with extra data as well. 85GB instead of usual 60GB.
