I've had this bank for a few months now.
Would recommend. Fast charges my galaxy 21 in about an hour around 4-5 times before it needs to be recharged.
Remaining percentage goes from 7 to 0% in around 20 seconds tho lol

  • DEfinitely recommend

Thanks, I just visited their Amazon store and bought the larger 40000mAh version, $53.29 after applying the 5% voucher. It has some bad reviews but I've been very happy with the 20000mAh (as per this deal) and 30000mAh ones I've owned for a couple of years, but I wanted something larger with pass-thru charging.

Not sure if it is a issue with E-Cig /Vape or the battery pack, but I have the same battery pack as in the picture, and it doesn't register the battery level decreasing even as it charges my Vape from 0 to 100%

On the first time I used the battery, charged it full and from their, the last 30% went in a matter of minutes but it's been fairly regular since then.

    • +1

Rated 4.1 / 5 in the Amazon reviews. That’s pretty bad. Your experience is very common. I’ve yet to have a ROMOSS which hasn’t bludged after a month of use.

      • Sorry if I wasn't very clear, the first time I used the battery from 100 down to 0, the last 30% went down within minutes, but from 100% to 0% has been a fairly smooth regular progression since then. And my vape not getting charged with 100% decreasing is just as likely to be an issue with my vape than the battery pack for all I know.

    • Long as the rated capacity is there battery level reporting doesn't seem like that big of a deal

      • well, it's not ideal to have you battery pack say it's 100% when it might actually be 50% or less? Since there's no one popping up and saying me too, I guess this isn't very common…

        • That's no their issue, it dips quickly below 30% before they calibrated the BMS

Assuming you charge when you need to and recharge when you can wouldn't really be an issue for me regardless

  • +4

Had this. No longer charging a month after warranty expired. Maybe I was just unlucky but I wouldn't buy it again. I have smaller capacity power banks that are still going strong after several years. It was good when it worked though.

    • Kyx can you please share link on Amazon or eBay of what you have now, have iPhone se second gen and iPad I would use it for. Many thanks

  • +1

Any tear down video of romos showing what kind of battery inside?

    • +1

I saw a review once showing the cells. They have 2 flat Li-Po 10,000mAh rated cells in parallel.

  • +1

Have this. Suddenly stopped fast charging iPhone with usb c port. Anyone else have similar issue?

    • +2

YES! On all 4 of mine, wtf? It must be an IOS thing as i'm on iphone 12 and and doesnt work but my son's on iphone 13 and it works

      • +1

Same as me. Using iPhone 12 and can’t fast charge with the usb c port. It won’t exceed 5w. Very odd

    • nope, mine still works like a charm.

    • What was the charge level on the phone? Just tried on my iphone and was only going regular speed but phone was @ 70%, iPad seems to be going at higher charge rate though as battery isnt as full.

      https://www.zmi.com/blogs/faq/why-is-my-iphone-not-fast-char…
      Note the 4th point:

      4. Fast charging is not a constant charging speed. Do not expect your iPhone to continue fast charging from 0-100%. As your iPhone's battery fills up, the charging speed will begin to taper. Usually past the 50% full mark, you will begin to notice a reduction in charging speed. Around 80% full, the iPhone will switch from fast charging to normal charging. This is not a bug or issue with the iPhone or charger but a normal setting that Apple has configured. It is probably designed to protect the battery's lifespan. For a longer battery life, it is best to keep the iPhone battery level between 20-80% full.

Could also be a software update causing these issues otherwise as Apple has been sneaky in the past.

      • My iphone 12 won't charge at all (from any battery %) from usbc on any of the 4 packs I have, but my sons iphone 13 is fine, no problem. Same cable.
It MUST be an OS change.

        • Same cable.

Is the cable MFI rated? Apple may have invalidated the cable.

          • +1

@Russ: Apple cable. It seems more like they've invalidated compatibility on the 12 but not the 13. I'm going to have to visit the (goddammit!) Apple Store

        • Just tested mine and the light came on for quickcharge on the powerbank, only 9v - 1A as the charge was about 68% so close to the 80% mark. I'm using an older XS model with original USBC-Lightning cable.

    • Yup mine just stopped charging from usb c all together.
After some quick research, it may be an issue with the new iOS update. Just gotta sit tight and wait for the next iOS update I guess.

I went this one. An extra 10000mAh and a digital display for $7.50 seems worth it for sure

Thanks! Just picked one up, good find.

Good find? I’m sure this was posted 2 days ago

          • +1

@flashi007: I checked and you're right. Went back and gave it an upvote

    • Probably, but check the size/weight of that thing. That unit is 670gm, yeah you'll get more charge but I don't want to lug that around while travelling.

I just got the 23800mah Charmast unit instead, slightly more expensive but faster charging, looks better and is way lighter.

  • Can this be taken on flights?

    • +3

yes, i think max capacity is 27000mAh for flights without needing approval from airline or something

      • As I was leaving Bangkok airport last week, I saw signage at the airport that they allowed up to 32000mah as a maximum for carry-on, not sure if it's a global standard.

    • +2

      Yes.

They need to be less than 100Wh without permit or less than 160Wh with a permit.
      https://www.qantas.com/au/en/travel-info/baggage/dangerous-g…

      My Romoss 30+ is 99.16Wh

      • I am not sure how that works out. From what I read powerbanks are usually 3.7 volt so if true 99.16wh/3.7v*1000=26800mah. I can't imagine the bank would be effective with lower voltage. Does it list V on your 30+ powerbank?

        • They label on my 30+ is 26800mAh/99.16Wh. I suspect this is to keep it under the 100Wh limit.

My 40+ is labelled as 40000mAh/148Wh as expected. Goodness knows what the actual capacity actually is.

        • Could be LiFePO4 batteries, nominal voltage of 3.2V, which works out correctly using your formula.

  • +1

Using their 50w 20000 power bank for a month now… Very good. Even charges xps 15 fine

  • +1

All my romoss power banks won’t charge my iPhone with usb-c to lightning anymore. At all.

My old xiamoi one still does!

    • Look at xiamoi

  • +3

It seems flying Qantas for example, it would be ideal to have 20000mah,

    10000mAh/1000 x 3.7V = 37Wh

    20000mAh/1000 x 3.7V = 74Wh

As it’s under 100Wh, you can bring it with you on the airplane.

What if we tried 30000mAh Power Bank:

    30000mAh/1000 x 3.7V = 111Wh

As it’s over the limit, you would need approval from the airline to bring it on. over would require airlines permission. Given 160wh is maximum ( 2 x 20000mah)

    • Saw your comment after I posted above reply to marbles and OP. Your maths is what I read, so wondering if powerbanks are effective with lower voltage or Romoss is overstating the capacity?

    • They also make/sell 27,800mAh power banks for this purpose which gets you right near the 100Wh limit.

  • How would airlines know if it's over or under 160wh given there's prob a gazillion different types of powerbank?

    • i suppose all electronic device need to state wattage if it has battery?

      • I have a lot of power banks that are just plain casings with no sticker or words on the outside. You literally can't tell what the power or wattage is. If I can't tell, I doubt airlines could either.

  • Does it support Power Delivery?

  • thanks bought 3

  • Keep an eye out on their ebay store too,

    https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/romossde/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_…

The Romoss 60,000 mAH behemoth was on sale for (after ebay coupon discount) :

ROMOSS 60000mAh Power Bank 22W Type-C 4USB PD QC3.0 Fast Charge Portable Battery

    Total: AU $51.83

and apparently you can put in offers on some of their ebay listings (they have multiple listings which make it a bit of a pain inthe ass):

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/353939278552

    https://www.ebay.com.au/bin/purchaseHistory?item=35393927855…

    https://www.ebay.com.au/bin/purchaseHistory?item=35398762234…

    • If the enforce the no high powered power bank rule at the airport, this one would be the most likely to stand out and be confiscated lol.

      • haha yeah 60000 mAH just purchased as a novelty it's 1.3kg and 22.5W holds it back

30000 mAh : https://www.ebay.com.au/bin/purchaseHistory?item=35393929044… was at some point selling cheaper than the amazon listing as recently as 23/24 May - note can still 'make offer'

20000 probably aint worth it from ebay atm and headache looking at the way they list their stock

  • Loved mine until it became a spicy pillow after 3 years of average use. Would probably buy again.

  • +1

Personally I would suggest smaller. (I own this, and a 10Ah one). The 20Ah never really leaves the house, because its just such a brick.

This is just on the 'too much' side of portable, unless you have a backpack. Even in a handbag or shoulder bag, its a manageable but noticeable addition.

A 10Ah by comparison still gets you more than 1 charge, but can be 'forgotten' in most carrying methods. I even find mine pocketable in looser pants.

Just a preference is all; ymmv.

  • Avoid. Fails after a few months. You're buying ewaste.

    • +1

Nope mine is 3 years and still going like a champ

  • What's the difference between sw20 and sense 6ps+? Does either do pass through charging?

  • What's the difference between sw20 and sense 6ps+? Does either do pass through charging?

  • Got the 30,000 instead for $10 more which I think is better value? Hopefully it holds up over the years. Still have my 10,000 Anker from 7 years ago going strong

    • +2

That's much much heavier per reviews, and risk not being allowed on plane.

  • OK it just arrived yesterday with prime delivery.

30k version is hella heavy and chunky ( basically could be used as a weapon )

Definitely will catch eyes at the airport with annoying customs staff at some point. :(

  • Thanks! Grabbed one :)
