Tempur Millennium Pillow $139.60 Delivered @ David Jones (Reduced from $349)

310

I find people either love or hate these things, if you sleep on your stomach I'm pretty sure they kill you …

The rec retail on these things is kind of ridiculous. Either way I bought the Millennium last time it was on sale and I really love it.

Would recommend trying this pillow in store if possible. I got intense neck pains using this

    • If you can this is good advice !

    • I bought this pillow (well this style of pillow), and I got neck pains for a couple of nights but now I love it

    • Definitely this. I bought this pillow last time DJ’s had it on sale and it definitely isn’t for me. Gave it about a week but kept reverting to my old pillow in the middle of the night.

Doubt there’s much of a market for second hand pillows either!

    • You'd have to sleep on it for the entire night to get a feel for it. You won't notice it if you just lie on it for a couple of minutes.

Tried it out for 2 weeks and I also got crick in my neck sleeping with this every night, hoping id get used to it but never did.

  • Bought one of these previously, they are fantastic at this price IMO. Not sure I would buy at RRP.

  • Any recommendations for great normal (not memory foam) pillows that keep their shape longer than 6months?

Is the username indicative of why they loose their form ?

      • +1

Wouldn't it help keep their form?

    • Generally the microfibre ones seem to hold their shape pretty well. My partner can't sleep on Tempur stuff, so I managed to get a sets of these for about thirty bucks and when they start slumping at all you can remodel them relatively easily …

      • They don't seem to be on special anywhere ATM sadly and I wouldn't pay $80 for 4 of them.

    • +2

I have always bought Dentons foam pillows when they are on special from Myer.

      https://www.myer.com.au/p/dentons-medi-rest-pillow

This one is great. And currently half price if you have a Myer One card.

      • Glad I read this. You should post it separately, Dentons are the best on the market.

I prefer the ones that are shaped like normal pillows though!

      • Thanks. I ordered one….and used my $10 gift card.

    • pillows that keep their shape longer than 6months?

It's probably not what you were considering, but have you tried inflatable camping pillows? They never lose their shape until they eventually get a leak. You can also adjust how firm they are, by putting more air into them.

BUT, they're smaller than "normal" pillows, and very much lighter. To an extent, you can overcome both of these factors by wrapping them in a towel before putting them in your pillowcase. But they'll never be as wide as a normal pillow.

An example of such a pillow: https://www.amazon.com.au/WILD-AUSSIE-Lightweight-Comfortabl…

If you want one more like the shape of the pillow in this deal, they're available too: https://www.amazon.com/FLEXTAILGEAR-Inflatable-Ergonomic-Bac…

  • How do these compare to the Ecosa which is $150 at RRP? Is this really that much better?

  • +2

Awesome! It's made ON Denmark. Is that better than IN Denmark? ;-)

    • +1

Aren't we all made on somewhere ?

    • +1

Some of the Tempur product made under Denmark (in Asia) and quality is much worse. I have two symphony pillows one made in Denmark the other not and they are completely different materials.

  • +1

Love these from last time on deal!!

  • Does it come with its own pillow cover or do I have to buy a special one separately?
Hmmm. The one in the link does not let you choose the size of the pillow. I’d probably recommend going to a store and trying out the various sizes before getting something so fundamental to your sleep.

    • +1

It does not come with it's own pillow case.
I use standard size pillow cases and it is a tight fit.
      Link to one I use.

really want to try this before spending 140$ on a pillow

  • Does anyone know if this pillow would help reduce snoring?

    • I should read the full description before posting! It claims to reduce snoring although any real-life anecdotes would be most welcome

    • If you're a side sleeper I'd say yes, so long as you get the pillow height right.

      • I have to side sleep if I snore too loud. That stops the snoring but not good for my back long-term

  • Any side sleepers use this? I need a higher pillow than back/stomach sleepers, this doesn't look high enough

    • +1

I like sleeping on my side and this is not high enough for me. I have another pillow underneath to raise it up.
I also find the contour in the middle annoying, so will be trying out the original version also on sale.

    • It's generally not for side sleepers. You can try it at Harvey Norman first to see if's any good for you. There's 3 sizes btw.

    • Isn't there lots of variables at play, ie width of one's shoulders/neck, one's weight, firmness of the bed, etc

  • These are great for back sleepers. There's a groove in the middle which helps to lock your neck and head in position, which helps as I sometimes wake up with a crink on normal pillows due to tilting my head into a weird position, and this helps with that.

    • Side sleepers too..! +1

  • Been using one for a few years now and I treat it just like any other ordinary shaped pillow. Sleep with it either sides all curled up, sleeping straight with face up, straight with face pointing either sides and my favourite remedy for those indigestion and acidic nights by propping the pillow right up (back support) for a good comfortable and less painful night sleep.

I also like the curve upwards since I like to sleep with my head slightly propped up.

  • Thank you, just ordered one. My old symphony pillow is too low for me. Compared this and original at domain last night. Found my DJ giftcard with remaining balance via emailbox searching lol.

    • Please note that the DJ site does not indicate which sized pillow you have.

      • I compared the size and it's medium - H 11 ;)

  • I’m onto my second original tepur, first one lasted 5 years and only changed it because i could. Love it. Side sleepers will need to find the correct pillow to use under it to bring your spine into the correct alignment.
