I bought a replacement battery on Amazon a couple of years ago. It is still going fine and was at least as good as the original. Just look for one with lots of 5* reviews.

FYI, the one you linked to at JB originally is not the same model as the one in that eBay listing.

Depends on who is in the house - 2022 V8 has updated floor and mini motorised heads called the motorbar and hair screw tool. These have anti tangle design to remove long hair from wrapping around the brush bar like it can on older tools. Also has redesigned colours and new look filter, but deletes the stubborn dirt brush.
If there's nobody with long hair at your house, the older version is great. Conversely, if there is, it's less maintenance with the new model as you won't need to break the scissors out to cut long hairs off the head periodically.

2022 revision is just V8, not V8 Animal.

The V8 Animal is a 2021 sku, not 2022.
The 2022 revision of Dyson V8 has no suffix name (i.e. V8 Animal).
The new model replaces the older torque drive head with a version including anti tangle vanes to remove hair from the brushbar, and replaces the mini motorised tool with the (anti tangle) hair screw tool. Deletes stubborn dirt brush and has an updated appearance as well.Sorry I'm confused.. Is the ebay one 2021 or 2022 ?

eBay link in this post = old V8 model with animal suffix.Understood that bit, 2022 in title is incorrect which needs to be fixed.

I'm on here as an individual in a personal capacity, you'd have to contact your respective retailer to request authorisation for that, I'd doubt they would agree, unless purchased through dyson.com.au directly as they have a 45 day money back policy there.Any reason why would you want to return a newer model to an older one ?

Half my house has a floating laminate floor — would the 2022 V8 with the Motorhead still be the better choice or should I attempt to locate a last generation V8 with the fluffy roller which I believe is specifically designed for hard floors?
JB online chat rejected price match saying a coupon code is being used on EBay. Any chance of a copy of the receipt?
