These things work like a treat. Multiple jumps per charge. Easier than carrying jumper leads around. Don't know about this one as I've only used a smaller one but bigger is better right?

This thing can charge a MacBook! I have one and cannot fault it. I jumped start my car, used it to power air pumps and it’s a backup if I ran out of juice on my companion rover.

Also charges so quickly using 100W MacBook charger.

Was looking at this but they had the GT4000 for $185 recently. I might hold off til that comes up again.

  • Are these actually good? Bought the 2000A a few months ago. Needed it a few days ago for the first time to charge a dead battery. Not even lights on dashboard after about 10 minutes.
Some good guy stopped and jump started it. Car started after 5 seconds.
Are these meant to be plugged in for a while? I have decided to return mine but haven’t taken it to the post office yet. Should I keep it for worst case scenario?

My understanding is you need to use the boost function.

    • +1

Either I'm misunderstanding you or you didn't use it right. Did you attach the 2000A to the car battery using the supplied jumper leads and then flicked the car ignition on to start the engine (with it still attached)? That's all it should take, it doesn't need to be attached for long, just for the engine start.

      • Well I don’t think I used it wrong. Yeah just attached it like jumper leads and turned it on. When the car didn’t start straight away, i tried a couple of time after waiting a few minutes each time.
The ignition wasn’t even clicking and no lights came on. The car battery has been dead for a couple of months though so I am not sure it needed more time to start.
The thing is when jump started using another car, it started straight away which put me off this product and I connected amazon to return it.
        Should I give another chance?

Edit: just realised there is a ‘boost’ button after comment above. Not sure it would’ve made a huge difference but will give it another go.

Ok no that's sounds correct. I've started my car twice using that method but as above I think you are meant to use the boost function if the battery is that low, there's instructions for it in the booklet it comes with. May as well return it now though unless you're expecting the car to go flat again soon

Don't let the battery die completely, it will permanently damage your battery. Either start your car every once in a while or use a mains powered battery charger which will maintain the right amount of charge in your car battery.

You can't charge a battery with this. It's not a charger for the battery, that function is done by the alternator in your car as long as the engine is running. This, on the other hand, is a jump starter. It provides that short burst of power that your car needs to turn or crank its engine one cycle (or more), until the petrol ignites within the engine and starts running the engine. You can also achieve the same objective by pushing the car (if it's a manual transmission) or if you have a really, really old car, crank it with a handle provided by the manufacturer.

  • Hi Guys, Can this charge LiFePO4 Lithium Iron Battery?

    • +2

You would need a charger in the middle, so this powers the charger that charges the lithium. You could use it to boost other 12v lithium batteries.

This model is a beast in size..i keep mine in the box it came in. Better then the bag they provide..

  • REV UP YOUR ENGINES!

  • I have the gp4000 well worth it, I use it also with a tyre inflator and inflats without stop starting, it holds a charge for a long time as well, a must have kept in boot with spare tyre for emergencies.

  • The GOOLOO GP2000 Jump Starter 2000A is also 41% off with Prime

most likely, I got the GT4000s 2 weeks ago and the 3000 was already selling for this price

      • Awesome. Thanks mate.
Will pull the trigger tomorrow then. Cheers.

I have the GT 3000 and have used it to start a completely Flat battery straight out the box and using the Boost feature (long press until READY is displayed).

The convenience of starting car when needed is so much better than waiting up to 2hrs for Roadside to rescue you (and that’s in metro areas).

This mode can be used as a battery bank, has built in torch (with strobe function). Also comes with a variety of cables which was nice and handy.

  • SuperSafe

No idea what that means, but leaving a lithium battery in the boot of a car during an Australian summer scorcher, doesn't seem like a good plan. Conversely, freezing winter months wouldn't be good for battery performance either. Don't expect miracles from this device, and don't be a sucker to cheap marketing lingo like "SuperSafe".

    • LMAO i agree with your statement. What if you wrap it with a blanket or something and chuck it in the boot? (winter)

And in summer just keep it in the coolest part of the boot ….

    • +1

I've had one in all my cars for years, gone to the snow, had the bushfires and used the jump starter about 10-12 times. Never missed a beat and all i've done is throw it on charge every 6 months while i'm servicing the car.

      I wouldn't be without it.

      • nice!

      • -2

used the jump starter about 10-12 times

Maybe it's time to replace the old potato powering your vehicle, with a good car battery.

Maybe i should just stop helping complete strangers especially in winter when batteries are more prone to fail, and during lockdowns when people couldn't drive their cars.

          • @LowRange:

Maybe i should just stop helping complete strangers

No, keep fighting for truth and justice. BTW, do GooLoo agents wear their underpants on the outside?

I am assuming the spare wheel well in the boot is the coolest part in a parked vehicle well. Should be at least a few degrees colder than the rest of the car. Winters are another story though.

      • cheers!

I have the 2000 model. It's great. 5.45 am this morning, first cold snap. Got it plugged in in a matter of 1 minute and started straight away and got my son to work on time. Third time I've used it and now think it's a necessity in the boot.

  • My last Gooloo worked once when i needed it which was good but now doesn't charge.

  • I think the promo has expired since like 3 days ago (at least), cause I tried buying using the link but, it costs $249.95
