Mac App Store: Free apps?

hey guys, i was always see free apps for the iPhone on the front page, but nothing for OSX. is there anything out there?

Also you can check many other sites like Versiontracker.com

The app store isnt the sole source of Apple applications, there are like windows etc, many freeware sites. The IOS has historically been the source of iPhone apps, the Mac predates the app store so distribution of freeware has been developed outside the app store.

http://www.macupdate.com is a good source. Not app store apps tho (means nothing really)
