Currently using a S8+ and its struggling and freezes a few times daily now which is effecting my work and getting frustrating.
What are the cheaper phones with type C port, NFC and wireless charging? I can't seem to find anything under $1000.
I'm open to Oppo,Xperia,Nexus.
Am I better off getting a S21 fe for $750 or buying the basic S22 for $1250?

With a RRP of $999 for the 128GB model so under $1000 as per OP's requirement
went from a s9+ to an s22+ and love it. Should be able to get a lightly used one off marketplace/gumtree.

30% off S22 series at JB HiFi if you have a phone with trade in value. Unfortunately S8+ does not qualify. Perhaps you have another phone you could trade in or could buy a cheap one for trade in?
Wait for the S20 FE 5G to go on sale again or there's the S21 that's available atm
I basically exclusively wirelessly charge my S20 and rarely pull a card out of my pocket to pay for something.

First choice: ($410-$650) Samsung A52-s
Second choice: ($520-$760) Samsung S20 FE
Third choice: ($370-$500) Redmi Poco F3
I'm on the same boat for my wife's mobile budget and requirements.
Unless I can get my hands on a Pixel 6 for 799 as per previous deals, I will go for S20 FE. You mentioned S21FE but it is a downgrade. Lots of bugs and plenty of complaints. It's price has gone down drastically because of it. However the S20FE holds it's ground really well. Even the camera seems to be right up there with my pixel on some occasions. Ticks all your boxes. It's retailing for 699 in Harvey Norman with a 150 bonus credit. you can sell the credit or use it and you got a good bargain and local warranty
