I feel it's still too much for a small fridge.

I totally agree with you but I don't think the people buying this would be thinking it through logically.

Just buy a normal mini fridge and add some green lightstrips.

        • Agreed, way too expensive, like you said just buy a normal mini fridge and add RGB.

    • +1

The fridge also works in your car. I feel that the price is fairly reasonable for a 10L branded fridge that holds 12 cans, many cost over $200, although there are unbranded ones on Amazon for around $100. Also it is not so eco friendly, by all reports it costs over $100/year to run.

can pre-order now from mighty ape $219 + $5.99 shipping

Anyone who decides to buy this BUYER BEWARE, most people have purchased and said it doesn't do anything besides fill a novelty itch that they have and thats fine, but in terms of any sort of practicality, actually cooling drinks, it's a huge waste of money. Youtube it, people weren't very happy.

This video does good coverage with temps compared to their own fridge.

      • Surprisingly better than I expected. Thermoelectric fridges aren’t supposed to be run 24/7, I’d have one in the game room, turn it on when needed, and put already fridge-cold cans in there to stay chilled. Can’t beat a heat pump for efficiency.

        • Once you say fridge people assume it's like the big ones in your house. I have one of those cheap USB fridges that you used to see 10 years ago and it works really well after a while for a single can.

          • @Clear: Yeah you're right. Should have said thermoelectric cooler.

I have one which also uses 12VDC, so ideal for caravanning/road trips, but in reality it just sits there gathering dust.

      This.
I nearly bought because it's so awesome looking, but absolutely useless as a fridge.
Even now I still kinda want it haha

      • You and me both, but i just can't justify that much on a fridge that's gonna do as much as me blowing cold air on a drink lol

        • +2

          But… limited edition!? lol

I had to mention it to my wife just to make sure I dont buy one in a moment of hype lol

        • +3

Use it for games/ accessories storage😅

  • Any good actual fridge alternatives people want to provide?

  • Was tempted but reading complaints and reviews, apparently it's not very good at all and many have returned them.

Devanti 46L seems a better option although nowhere near as novel. Currently $215 on eBay.

    • I guess it’s more of an atheistic than an actual use for it
It looks good but functionality wise it’s trash

      • Create vinyl sticker and cover any fridge
        .

As a snack (Snickers and M&Ms) fridge this could probably just be almost useful 🤔

  • +3

These are going to go on clearance I bet

    • After a cold reception?

I'm kidding. I mean luke warm.

  • If they did a Gamecube one I would get it in a heartbeat, even if it didnt even cool properly.

    • +1

      Gamecube Esky?

  • Surely your average ozbargainer could find a proper full size fridge secondhand and have $200 left over for mountain dew and other gamer fuels

  • Does anyone know if it is the model with an "Eco" switch?
    I'd ask myself, but I don't have a Twitter account…

    • "Hello there,
The 'Xbox Series X Replica Mini Fridge Thermoelectric Cooler' does not include an ECO mode. -Obi"

  • So who is the numpty that reported this as sold out….. guess you can't read

    • Another dude just reported it again haha

      • Even if the item isnt sold till tomorrow, the page should still be there

        • +1

I think that’s how EB Games works
The page will be updated when the item is in stock and ready for pre order

          • -2

@BargainsGrabber: That's never been the case with ebgames, even preorders always have a page available, ive only ever seen it removed if its sold out.

@garetz: As per EB Games' Tweet:

LIMITED RELEASE ⚡ The FINAL UNITS of the Xbox Series X Mini Fridge replica will be available to preorder online at 11AM AEST tomorrow, 31 May!

      • It was a second ago

Oops. Just that the page isn't there at eb. Its a bit confusing.

        Ps: wasnt me that reported

  • My trustee 36yr old Willow esky (44ltr) is far bigger (76 cans). This fridge will be lucky to last 5yrs I reckon.

    • Just place an XBOX in the top left corner, draw the Blu-Ray slot with a black Sharpie, and it's perfect.

  • A bar fridge with a clear window door is way cooler than an xbox fridge. Same money too.

  • Will be buying one to go with my call of duty jug fridge and fall out 4 fridge

  • Maybe JB will have it too? Since mighty ape also getting new stock.
