Camera's for Bout $800-900

Hey guys,

Got about 900 hundgy bucks to spend on a Digital SLR and I am wondering if you could give me you're bestest advice.

I see deals like the Nikon D3100 and the Canon Sigma one coming along but simply dont know which way to turn. I am a novice but a keen one and I know there are several factors to take into consideration like, motor, Lens and sensor but what would be my best bet for an all rounder yet excellent quality photo's?

Please help before I buy a piece of crap with a fancy name.

Get it while it's hot http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/70243

I personally don't like the kit lens that comes with the package. It'll be better to buy the body with Tamron or Sigma lens. I use the Canon 60D which is slightly better for video than D7000 but slightly lacking photo quality - also around your price range.

    • thanks for the info, so you reckon the Nikon D3100 is good….is the Lens kit that comes with good for photo's only? I wont be using it for vid and the reports I have read say it is ok, not great but ok. When I get more coin I will look into the Tamron lens kit.

Im a novice just like you too. lens kit is good if you are just starting. ive gotten a budget prime lens to compliment my kit lens as well.

go for a 60d, i bought a 600d and find myself sometimes wondering about a 60d. also 60d is within your price range and is the highest canon entry camera without change to CF cards. imo, single lens kit canon 60d

not a canon fanboi, just that i have no exp with nikon.
