Folding Bike Recommendation

I am looking for folding bike for weekend stroll. (may use it in the park or garden only, not on the road) Let me know if there is a good one for that.

I need the folding one so I can transport it easily inside car boot.

I have no experience with any bike purchase, so totally no idea what to look for.

Budget? No idea. $100-$1000?
I saw kogan folding bike, but I have no idea with the quality.

Thanks

You'd be surprised the size of a bike you can fit in a car.
Used to be able to fit full size bikes into Hyundai getz's with a bit of manouvering.

    • This actually looks like a decent bike, and not too heavy.

      • Agree. It’s a decent price/quality compromise.

Don’t buy a cheapo folder. Too many compromises, weight being a big one.

Get a bike rack and a proper bike.

    Don't buy anything from Kogan.

  • The Aldi (crane brand) folding bikes are great for a casual rider. Plenty of basically new ones available on Gumtree or Facebook marketplace for ~$100

  • Did you buy the D90? You probably wouldn’t need a folding bike if you did buy one of those land-barges. Just drop the rear seats, pull the front wheel off a real bike and throw it in the back?

    • Not yet.

      • Would folding the third row and putting the bike in the back work for you when you get the large vehicle? Alternatively as suggested by brendanm a bike rack is better idea unless you’ve got your heart set on a folding bike.

        • Tend to agree. A full sized bike is more peasant to ride and doesn’t have the compromises that a folder does.

If you get something with a quick release front wheel it’s relatively easily go in the backing of most cars., especially if the rear seats are easily folded down. A large SUV will probably do it without folding the seat down.

Brompton is the best, would need to go second hand for that budget however and they not easy to get.

  • Not sure if you found what you were looking for already, but I bought this one last month:

It is a bit over your budget, it's an e-bike so not sure if you'd like it either but I'm very happy with that, can take it everywhere and it's super light. I paid full price but it looks like they are $200 OFF now. Would definitely recommend it.
