Manufacturer's Description
From the dawn of creation, the council has maintained the Balance across existence. Carrying out their orders are the Horsemen, Nephilim (powerful beings spawned from the unnatural union of angels and demons) who have pledged themselves to the Council and been granted immense power.

However, this power came at a tragic cost: the Horsemen were ordered to use their newfound strength to wipe out the rest of their kind. What followed was a bloody battle on Eden where the Horsemen, obeying the will of the Council, annihilated the Nephilim.

Darksiders: Genesis is an action/adventure that tears its way through hordes of demons, angels, and everything in-between on its way to Hell and back with guns blazing and swords swinging. Genesis gives players their first look at the world of Darksiders before the events of the original game, as well as introduces the horseman Strife.

I was a big fan of the first two Darksiders games and I'm a fan of this genre but this title didn't click for me. Played it a bit on Game Pass and never returned to it.

    • Same here I loved the original two and figured for the price I may as well give it a shot. Hopefully the story and lore are interesting enough to keep me hooked.

  • Yep, this game was terrible in my opinion. Returned it straight to ebgames.

As others above me have stated, this is different style of game to the previous ones. Previous Darksiders were platformer puzzlers, whereas Gensis is more of a bullet hell game. I actually like bullet hell, so I enjoyed Genesis.

  • Got one, looks like Victor Vran which I really enjoyed.
I'll play nearly any isometric game. Except for Contra Rogue Corps, that was hot garbage.

  • This game is more like gauntlet with a storyline - it's also really good as a couch co-op game.

I can understand why people who liked the first 2 games as single player action/adventure are disappointed by this one, but personally I think it's an excellent game, once you see it for what it is, rather than what it isn't.

  • Note that the PS4 version is $7,50 on gamesmen.com.au.
