Does Cancelling Items Affect Amazon Free Shipping if Total Drops below $39?

Basically I bought some quilton toilet paper along with a monitor. Quilton toilet paper has arrived but the monitor will be delivered in another two weeks.

The ironic thing is that the monitor is now cheaper than when I bought it at, but not by much ~$10. It appears I can cancel but would that affect the shipping fee on the partial order?

Here is what it states on the website:

If your order doesn't qualify for free delivery:

The order may contain ineligible items such as items sold and fulfilled by third-party sellers, bulky goods or special products.
An eligible item may have been cancelled resulting in the order total falling below $39 for eligible items that qualify for free delivery within Australia or the order total falling below $69 for eligible items that qualify for free international delivery.

The question I have is how is this enforced and does it tell me how much extra shipping I need to pay when I press that cancel button? Shouldn't it tell me beforehand?

Comments

  • How much would the shipping had been if it was not free? Is it worth the risk of being charged that for ~$10?

    • It's worth it, but I might lose my position in the queue.

I wouldn't want to wait another few days as it's been two weeks already. I don't think I'll cancel it.

  • +2

Just order another monitor and bring down the average price.

  • +4

Go on Amazon live chat and they will likely refund the difference

    • refund or credit? its usually been credit for me, which might not be as useful for OP
