my house is very cold these days even in daytime. Presently using ac as heater but I am sure this is expensive. Any suggestions for a gas heater that is good and not costly? Also what should I consider? I have a gas point at the hall. Hall as wooden floor.

this is for hall, size 7x9 meters
7x9m = 63m² which is a big space. Are you trying to make it "nice enough to walk through" or actually trying to heat it enough to live in there? And how high is the ceiling, and do the rooms opening off the hall have closed doors or openings?

Its living hall, we use that for tv/dinner. Ceiling is standard abt 5.5m high. Hall got a sliding doors but with some horizontal stripes (gaps).
I heard that gas heater is not good for false walls, not sure how true is that.
With gas you need ventilation, i wouldn't use it for a small bedroom, perhaps a small oil heater, maybe not that much cheaper than A/C.
