  • Queue the frozen blueberry hep B warnings :)

    • Is this why my local Coles has had 0 frozen blueberries for weeks?

      • I'm not aware of any recent hepatitis scares, but they pop up every few years.

        • Hmmpf.
          More frequent than that.
Comes down to farming methods and proper systems. Not just using raw sewage.

    • If you cook the berries does it kill hep B?

      • sorry I think it was actually hep A

yes, heating to at least 85 degrees for a couple of minutes will kill it

    Healthy living

Those products are a disgrace who are living healthy. Next time use protein supplements.

    • +1

      Lol

      • Why lol

        • Lol @ your "Why lol".

    • Or food?

      • -2

It’s not food. Food doesn’t come with colourful labels and a lot of ingredients. Food is meat and whatever you eat, like veggies

        • i eat protein powder

    • +1

Not sure why you're getting downvoted. Most of the food items that appear on weekly specials are pre packaged and processed food items.

      • -1

It’s like gollum is addicted to the precious. Some people are addicted to that packaged stuff. They don’t know they are slowly dying from that.

        • Don't get me wrong I like pre packaged food too. It can be nice and it's convenient. But if most of your diet comes from pre packaged/overly processed food items it's probably not great for your health!

And of course there are different packaged items that are probably okay (frozen fruit and vegetables for example).

          • @dust: Companies market them as real food. Real food shouldn’t be processed the crap out of anything.

        • My precious Diet Supplements. I want to hold you, you will be MINE!
Don’t know about you, but I can’t make the connection between Lord of the Rings & Protein Supplements.
          How about you Gamgee?

          • @cashless: Not about just protein supplements but ultra processed food/junk in general

          • @cashless: I'll stick to my taters

      • I wonder if that's just because they're so marked up, whereas raw ingredients have more competition and aren't as marked up

    • Yeah I noticed the same. I was surprised to see all the protein stuff under that category. Your suggestion is a good idea.

      • Who doesn't love a good sale of protein products! Haha

  • +2

    Thanks Sam.

    Thanks as always Mr Gamgee!

  • Cadbury chocolate blocks are only $2.50 cheapest around also. Stocked up.

    • -1

Yeah but the block size keeps shrinking so it's a rip off when compared to Aldi chocolate blocks.

      • At 2.50 it works out to 1.39 per 100g vs 1.50g at Aldi.

It's usually 3 so that's equal to Aldi at normal price too.

It's only a rip off at RRP.

I prefer Cadbury over Aldi so this price is sweet.

        • I believe you're comparing it with the Aldi Choceur brand which is unfair as Cadbury is a similar quality to Aldi Dairy Fine, it's $2 for a 180g block.

    • +1

Has anyone noticed how Cadbury tastes more like sugar than actual chocolate now? Don't know if it's me thats changed, or Cadbury chocolate. Our relationship is on the rocks.

  • +1

Oven Bake Fish Fillet? Stupid, fat hobbit! You ruins it!

  • Does anyone know which country does birds eye source the fish from?

    • -1

      Mongolia

    • Besides stating Alaskan pollock or nz hoki, they don't share. They do have an msc label on the front of their packs, which with the reference code, may provide further details of area.

    Thanks Sam ya legend
