Third Party Leather Seat Trim Recommendation

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to get my first brand new car. I'm going for either a Mazda CX9 Touring or a Toyota Kluger GXL. However these only have a synthetic leather sea trim included.

How are your personal experiences with this synthetic leather?
Do you have any recommendation for a third party leather trim brand? I'm thinking either beige or brown.
If it's not worth it to go for third party products, should I just go for top range of the one below Mazda CX9, CX8 Asaki instead to get that brown nappa leather?

        Google some trimmers in the area and get quotes - then do the maths.

        Eg. This one

        I suspect a cx9 retrim in decent leather will be $8k+ easily.

        This quality plastic is hard wearing and low maintenance. Win win.

        I'm thinking either beige or brown.

        Which exterior colour are you looking at? A dark colour I hope.

    Buying a new car and retrimming seems a bit, excessive - to put it politely. Don’t bother. You’ll never get your investment back.

    They wouldn’t market it as synthetic leather if it wasn’t very similar. Maybe if you don’t like it after a couple of years either get another car or consider retrinming then.

    Stick with the synthetic, at least warranty would cover you for any deficiencies. It's not like the leather of old.
    Retrimming an entire car in leather would be $4-$5k methinks.
    Spend more on the higher spec car before ripping apart your seats.

    i wouldn't go with leather in a car unless you plan to baby it, cloth lasts a lot longer in Australian conditions and you can neglect it without issue.

    go with the synthetic leather if there is no cloth or fabric option and just leave it, if it lasts, then keep it, if it starts degrading, then start thinking about getting it reupholstered

    I've got a CX9 Azami and the factory synthetic leather is fine. Definitely better than some cars in which it's way too firm/hard.
