Traveling to India: No More Pre Departure COVID Test?

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone travelling or recently been to India.

I'm flying via Singapore Airlines. They have removed COVID test requirement from 26 April for transit.

With India, it seems they have done same but can't find exact info from government website. Looks like now it is either show full vaccination or do the test.

Just wondering if anyone traveled recently it planning to travel in next week or two, and can confirm if their understand is same?

Is that when they declared we are in for a rough 'flu' season this year?
I thought the flu disappeared from all government databases for the last 2 years, gee…I wonder where it might have been hiding all this time?

      It's on a cycle.

      COVAIDS
      Ukraine
      Roe V Wade
      Climate Change
      Alien Invasion
      Election results
COVAIDS #2 (This one will really get their attention: Bill Gates)

      The rise of China.

Ahh bugger it, I'm just gong to stop looking at the 'news'.

  • My father (Indian citizen) went back couple of weeks ago, no test proofs were asked at Mumbai airport. The printout of following form along with other attachments were required.

Air Suvidha Self Declaration Form To be Mandatorily Filled By All International Arriving Passengers to India

    All the best.

    • Thanks a lot for confirming. That helps a lot.

    • this.. my colleague flew to Delhi last April 26th and he said no tests required, just fill out some Suvidha thing which got asked during checkin

I am planning to visit 15 new countries in the next 18 months and have been using this website (https://www.tripsguard.com] for quick information regarding entry requirements to various countries.

Accordingly, if you are fully vaccinated, then there is no pre-travel test requirement to go to India.

Of course, you should also double-check with relevant government advice prior to travel as advice today, could be different to when you are travel etc.

    • Are you using a RTW ticket to visit the 15 countries? Which alliance and which countries will you visit? I'm just curious

I have been on several RTW tickets in the past (usually with OneWorld) but for my upcoming travels, it will be point to point. Normally, I book the key flights first (eg. Australia to Europe) and then I build up other countries using flights/train/hire car etc. I like using skyscanner to search for flights (using the unsure, search everywhere function).

I have been to 60 countries so far and am working out a way to visit more of the MENA areas (middle east, north africa). So will get to Doha/Dubai/Abu Dhabi etc and work my way from there in this instance.

    • Thanks

  • India cancelled my visa at the start of COVID and never refunded.
I think they owe me one.
