I am attempting to book a flight online with Air NZ from Tauranga to Brisbane via Auckland.
There are 3 departure flights showing from TRG with a connection to BNE via AKL when I search an economy seat.
6.am midday and 6pm.
The mid day flight works fine with a 3 hour lay over in AKL. Because of the lay over time in AKL we have decided to go Business to take advantage of lounge access during the lay over. However when I select Business the mid day flight dissapears as an option and only leaves the early or late flight.
I understand that the TRG AKL section is a single class fare but this shouldnt make a difference as the 2 other flights show still and are also single class.
I can obviously book 2 flights and just lug our bags over to the International terminal and check them in there, but would prefer to book on a single ticket so I can check backs from TRG to BNE straight through.
The wait time on the Air NZ 1800 number is over 2 hours, so I am hoping someone can suggest a work around.
Why Does Flight Not Show as an Option
Comments
Try a travel agent? A competent agent (not looking at you FC) can construct flight combos that may not appear online subject to meeting MCT (which it sounds like you do anyway).
Did you try booking as a multistop trip vs. just a return fare/one way?
I gave that a shot too before posting, but the website wouldn't play nice…
same result the midday flight doesnt show if selecting bizzo
It looks like the midday option has the AKL-BNE leg on an A321, while the other two options are on 787s. No J on NZ's A321, so no ability to buy a J fare…
As MELso says, it's because not all Brisbane-Auckland flights have Business Class. If you choose an Airbus A321, then it's Economy only.
Given it's the same airline they will be able to see both your travel legs even if you book them separately and you should be able to get them to check them straight through for you??? Or book separately and then call them up later and get them to link the bookings. Either way, again they should be able to check them straight through for you. Good luck.
I hear what you are saying, it just seems to be an inneficient way of making what should be a seamless booking, and I can not understand why the first flight is not available
Because you clearly need to fight, not flight.
