Hi all, I forgot to take my (Ultimate Ears Megaboom)Bluetooth speaker off charging and it’s currently plugged in the charger and I will be away from home for 2-3 days , I am bit scared about the speaker still plugged in ? Would their be any chances the speaker can get over charged and explode . Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Forgot to take My Ultimate Ears Megaboom off Charging Should I Be Worried ?

Thanks , have you come across something similar in the past ?
I’ve got one of these speakers and I leave it plugged in for weeks. Not a problem
Your speaker will have mechanisms that prevent it from overcharging. (Which I assume is what you think may cause an explosion).
Why do think so many people are fine with charging their phones overnight. Also, the display smartphones or speakers that are constantly connected in stores haven't exploded.
I hope you have comprehensive fire insurance, that speaker will "mega boom" alright if you leave it on charge for that long. All those electrons pumping into it have to go somewhere once it's full…
What’s are you even taking about mate ?
Think he’s just having a laugh, no need to worry haha.
Dont worry, it will manage the charge and there will be virtually nothing flowing in, once it is full. It will either shut off or put a tiny maintenance current through.
BTW if you want to go for ultimate battery life with just about any rechargeable battery, you should learn to consider ~30% as "empty" and charge then, also only charge to around 90%. It is the extremities that damage batteries. Keep it in the middle and it will live many times longer.
True for phones, speakers, everything really, except car (lead acid) batteries. They need to be kept fully charged all the time. Thanks you kindly Sir really appreciate your help
It will be fine. They sell charging docks (https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/ultimate-ears-power-up-ch…) and mine just lives on that mostly. The charging circuits prevent over charging
Thanks mate
I have mine on the dock 24/7 and it’s all good. I also have an original Boom and that’s always plugged in without issues since new.
Same
Uh oh… it will go mega kaboom!
Call the manufacturer support line and ask them.
Good answer might just call them
100% need not worry. They all have protection circuitry to stop charging once the battery is fully charged. No reputed consumer electronics manufacturer would design their products containing Li-ion batteries without over-current, over-charging/discharging circuitry built-in. If this wasn't the case you'd have to stay awake to disconnect the your mobile as soon as it has reached 100% charge overnight.
If things like this keeps you awake while you are away, next time charge via smart-plug.
Thanks mate , really helpful comment indeed
No need to worry. It's all good.
