[WA] Switch Gas & Receive $100 Good Guys Credit / [NSW/VIC/SA/QLD] Switch Electricity+Gas & Receive $200 Credit @ AGL

240

First time poster…didn't envision it being for AGL fml but I just moved into my first home and tried finding the best deals for gas (electricity monopolized in WA). Plus it might be useful for upcoming EOFY sales.

As per title, receive a $100 credit if you switch your gas to AGL in WA, and $200 credit if you switch both gas and electricity in NSW, VIC, SA, and QLD. You have to fill out a store that you visited and an agents name, but I just signed up and put a random store/agent name and I received the $100 Good Guys credit instantly via SMS. Unsure if you still get $100 credit for signing up to just gas or to just electricity in the other states though….

Also seems like gas and electricity rates vary across states, so DYOR on whether the switch is worth it. Since AGL is also doing 56% gas usage and supply charges for 12 months in WA, it made sense switching to them for me.

Can confirm $200 for both in NSW

    • did you do separately for electricity?
It seems I can only do gas

I did both at same time, in check out step, it has a remove button for gas, i left as it was then got email in seconds about my $200, then a sms with the voucher code.

      • same here couldnt get electricity they only offered me gas only,

        • So it seems like they offer by address of the property, when i put in my address, it stated both in the check out step.

        • Try to use mobile

  • Can sign up and sign out very quickly in one billing period then

    • ^_^, thats what i did, jump to energy thru cashreward ($200) from agl, now go back to agl $200 again.

  • Great Post!

  • only got a $25 coupon via text.
WA and an old existing customer.

    • My exp, if u having a partner, make that be the account holder, so now new customer, bills should be the same ^_^. Just in case they ask moving in or whatever, say yes then pick a start day, no problem at all

      • would this create an additional costs for ticking moving in?

        • +1

From what ive known so far, none for new customer moving in a new home (not new connection for a brandnew property), they not gonna check or allow to check the relationship. Hope u get my point.

  • The txt message for good guys are instantly.
I wonder if they check it at all

  • Great post. Also got $75 off first electricity bill. Gas didn't go through automatically so had to ring them up, unfortunately didn't get a stacked $75 for gas as well.

    • How do I know if I get $75 off as well?

      • +1

Go to your account. On the overview page it'll say if there's a $75 offer under "electricity" or "gas" tiles.

      • Any luck?

        • Yup, got on both of them. Thanks

  • Would like to say, got $200 thru sms at the good guys. Plus $75 off 1st bill ($150 for incl gas), after setup and log in my agl account. ^_^

  • How long is the good guys credit valid for? I don’t have anything to buy right now but something may come up later in the year

    • +1

It was on the text message, 3 year

  • Any idea how long you need to stay with agl for promo?

    • not sure how they could get the $200 back once you have spent it….?

  • Dang, just signed up to this also - what a deal!
Got the $200 GG code straight away, and have $75 credit sitting in both elec and gas accounts.
Foolishly selected quarterly bills so now have to wait until i get my first ones until i can leave and get a decent rate from someone else! I assume they wouldnt apply the $75 credit if i left in a month……?

  • Great sign up process, got the store credit instantly. Gonna churn to another retailer after my $75 bill credit is utlized & back to AGL & repeat, since the T&C seem to allow for up to 4 store credits within 6 months.

"Limit of 1 credit per fuel per account, up to a maximum of 4 credits per customer, over a 6-month period. Read The Good Guys' terms and conditions, opens in a new window for full details."
