[Resolved] Passport Renewal When Expired?

My foolish relative did not pay attention to renew their passport in time.

I can't find a straight answer if an expired passport can be renewed or if a from scratch application needs to be made?

    The passport.gov page isnt specific if expired is ok. But the nsw page says so. im not from nsw so wouldnt have thought to check out another states gov page.

Thanks for asking on OZ help. Did you google how to get a new passport? NO as it was too hard!!!!
