  • Wait is this a proper chainsaw size or more like a pole saw size

  • Pity I don't have any trees and don't like the idea of juggling chainsaws as a street busker.

    • -3

Jugling is all Ozito stuff is good for!

  • Why are you all scooping up these chainsaws for? Cutting trees is bad for the environment mmkay.

    • They're also bad for my yard when a large part of one falls across it…

    • -2

      Ozito is bad … mmmkkk!

  • +2

None in Kingston, despite their system showing a whopping 6 on the shelves. Glenorchy same, despite showing 2.

  • PerthSV linked this deal the other day in the circular saw post
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/698183
It showed in stock at Leppington NSW was close by I so ordered it through PowerPass app (using mock location app to show im in the store)
When i got there, they actually didnt have it in stock, they refunded my money and checked other stores for me, they said Villawood had stock and called the store to reserve one
    Picked it up at night
Not sure if Villawood have any stock left
Was actually considering buying it at full price a few weeks ago but didnt, just used my dads petrol chainsaw
But have been waiting for deal on 4a battery so not bad

    • I went to Villawood this morning to pick up some Ozito 18v tools and the chainsaw shelf where the discounted ticket hung was bare. You probably got the last one.

  • got one from Rosebay thanks

    • Any left

      • 1 only so ……

  • +1
    • A handful starting to go up on FB marketplace too..smh

      • wondering how many he brought lol

    • +8

Ask him if he’ll take $67

    • say hi to broden from me

  • I think this was a mistake. I reckon they meant to discount the skin only version to half price in line with the other ozito skin sale.

  • If anyone managed to get one in Melbourne and wants to sell the skin (not battery charger) please PM me

  • Grabbed the last one in my little corner of regional Qld. Thanks OP. Was full price on the tag, but checked at paint counter.

  • +3

Awesome, thanks. Bunnings wouldn't price match a skin + battery as a separate deal but dropped the chainsaw to 1c with a full price 4amp battery

    • +1

And it is time to return the 4amp battery:)

      • -1

Great idea! Went to another store this morning and 75.90 back in the pocket.

    • Which store did U go to?

      • Rockingham WA

        • ooh I am as keen as a bean.
Can you pm me your tips or how you did it?
Im even happy to drive to Rockingham to try and nab one.

  • After literally fighting with staff and a billion phone calls, managed to put a special order in

Lets see if it gets fullfilled

    • lol they said no to me in regard to putting in a special order

      • +1

Had to call a few stores until someone put the order in and then transfer to my local store where i made the payment

        • Did you ask to speak to the special order desk on each call?

          • +1

@BuyNow Think Later: No, just asked a random guy on the phone he did it for me.

Other stores refused and said it was a live item (it hasnt been discontinued) , im guessing it means not discontinued but awaiting stock arrival so you can buy it when its restocked at full price. But since ive paid, now guaranteed at discounted price.

            • +1

@easternculture: They told me that Special Order is only for items that they do not stock in store. This item is stocked but just out of stock hence do not qualify for Special Order :(

              • @JaeTee: Technically they can put in a special order for any item out of stock. Its basically paying for an item in advance while waiting for new stock in this case

              • @JaeTee: Yay, mine is ready for collection. Sms recieved today

  • +3

    Appreciate first come etc…
but thanks to the guy in Canberra that went store to store buying all chainsaw stock.. as stated by one of the workers.. management had discovered the same person was going store to store buying all of this product..

I get it, but thanks for nothing

    • +3

Absolute knob act… I totally agree

    • +4

      The canberra broden

      Brodens legacy continues

    • Probably a low life with no job if he has time during the day to go around every Bunnings store in the area.

    • Probably Scotty for after the election

  • +1

Bunnings Port Melbourne staff told me they could see 2 in the system. I asked for one to be put aside for me with an existing order. Shortly after I got my original order cancelled. When I called up, I was told the original order items has sold out (website still says in stock) and when I asked about the chainsaw, the presumably manager said there has been a note from HQ saying it is a price error and no more stock available.

  • I have the circular saw and it struggles to cut the skin on a custard.

  • i was going to buy a makita, but this is so much cheaper. i dont know what to do :(

    • +1

      Buy makita. This sold out

  • Got mine at Werribee, 1 x left :) Cheers

  • 2 left at ERINA North. Just purchased one.

  • +1

I just had one scanned at West Gosford and it came up as $224

    • Hey @OlBoozeroony, scoot over to ERINA. 2 left at 9am this morning. Kind of hidden on shelf but not too hard to find.

  • From the PowerPass app, can confirm that price reverted back to $224
    Deal is over

All of those who didn't get one, lucky you, you won't have to go through and find out just how sad this stuff is as … I did! … get a quality brand and pay for it through a BNPL scheme, best thing I have done for some time!

    • BNPL scheme isn't that great.
      Best to buy outright
I believe a lot of people got it for the battery not the tool, the tool is just an extra

      • -4

Not one single Ozito battery I have has the original cells, the batteries are the worst of the worst with generic unbranded cells that die even if your careful, keep them cool and charge them early like I did, 2 of the 115mm angle grinders burnt out with minimal use and low stress … the brush holders melted and destroyed the commutator on both, bought 2 sets of Makita through a BNPL scheme that cost me nothing more than the cost of the tools and I have tools and batteries that don't suck, have a few Aldi tools and batteries and although not to the standard of pro tools, they are all working well and the batteries after 4 plus years are still good!

buy this for the battery? … bad purchase!

        • Fair enough that Ozito is not for you. No doubt quality can vary and a tool that works for one person may have issues for another.

But as another viewpoint, that's not been my experience. I have abused much of the Ozito PXC range and while they are not perfect, generally they have been very solid. If you buy when price matched, they can be fantastic value. My $29 2x 18v jet blower is so damn good. OzBargain + alerts make it pretty easy to get a jump on any deals. But even full price they are a great option IMO.

My 115mm angle grinder from 2016 is beat to hell, but works fine. The only Ozito tool I have had die is a reciprocating saw (4 years old, overheated cutting up old hardwood fencing) because the motor and brushed were full of old sawdust and metal filings. Bunnings swapped it for a new one on the spot, no questions asked. I have a 2016 brushed drill that lives on a boat on a mooring, and is rusty from the salty air. Still works fine.

I have had one battery die - also at about 4 years old, so out of the 3 year warranty. User error - I accidentally left it flat for over a year (left behind at a friends property right before Covid), and so of course it drained too far and can't be charged. I harvested some of the still good cells for other projects but never got around to repacking it. I have some old 4Ah and 2Ah batteries from 2016 still going strong. I put them on my capacity tester and they are down about 15% capacity from new. Pretty good really.

I have one of the $48 4Ah black batteries that I have been using for a non Ozito project. It gets fully cycled about 4 times a week, going on 14 months now. It's dropped 7% of the original capacity (compared to what it tested at when I first got it). It's only supplying 50W, but still, cell quality seems good. Teardowns of the batteries show a pretty good BMS.

Some things are annoying. The hook and loop on the multifunction tool I have is hot garbage and sandpaper does not stay on. The tool itself it decent though. My brushless hammer drill has a chuck that sticks / feels crunchy sometimes. It works fine, so I will save warrantying it for if it gets worse, or before the warranty runs out. The only tool I've bought that I think is not worth full price is the original (2016) fan, which is noisy and vibrates a lot. The new one looks much better. The wet dry vac is great, except the hose is terrible and stiff cheap plastic, and the accessories are meh. I just adapted another hose I had on instead.

I have used this saw, and it fantastic value for anyone who scored the kit for $67.

I own the dual 18V brushless Ozito chainsaw, and it's cut a lot of firewood with no issues. I bought it, and the batteries, on various specials, for a total of $246. The little 18v one will do 80% of the jobs I use the big one for. Just a little slower and a bit more work for larger stuff when camping.

My only complaint about the 18V Ozito is that the body feels quite bulky for the 10" bar length. At least compared to some of the very compact 18v Makita brushless chainsaw that is 7 times the price. The Ozito is very easy to hold and use two handed though.

Einhell have a great looking 18V brushless 12" chainsaw that sits between the two Ozito models we get here. It has double the chain speed of the brushed 18v (and two speeds) and would have been a great option for me if they sold it here.

I have used a Makita 18V brushless chainsaw, and an AEG 58V one. Both excellent, but many many times more expensive full price, let alone on special. Great if you need any specific features or higher chain speed, more power etc, but the Ozito gear is pretty great for most people.

      • Yes i was surprised too how long the body is for such a small bar, I’m going to use it as a camping saw so the room matters, was hoping it might be as compact as the dewalt 300mm bar saw

  • Pity I missed this one. Put one in the Powerpass cart last night and rang regional store today to get cousin to pick one up at Innisfail.
Guy on phone said it was the other model and he declined an Ozbargainer yesterday at Innisfail.
Explained it was on Powerpass app at $67 so I had right I/N, he said no way it would have been $67…

I will lash out and get the 36V skin I think.

Last month I bought a heap of the Ozito range and now half price, I didn’t think it was ethical to go buy again and use old receipt to claim back a $100 but does Bunnings have a policy like JB’s etc?

    • it's an actual special with the orange label marked down to $67. If I could work out how to post the image I would. says sale ends on 11/05/22

  • you're (profanity) me. I just got one for over $100. but apparently that was a deal too…

    • Yeah, but you managed to get one. $100 sounds ok to me, but no stock around, at $67 you'd probably have nothing.

      • True. Though I think it was like $130 or $140

  • +1

Confirm it is not a price error, bought the last one at Kingsgrove store on last Friday after work, it was on special with organge ticket marked down to $67.

  • Called Lawnton store the other day and they said they had three, but couldn't find them. Went into Morayfield store today and was told they had five. They couldn't find them either. Nor could I.

  • So picked up my special order today
Was in a box from ozito with a label and my name on it
Opened the box and there was 2 chainsaws 🤣🤣🤣🤣

    • wow thats epic
      2 chainsaw kits?

      • Yeh, only interested in the 4amp battery on 2nd unit

        • Might pop into my local store and do a special order. Any tips?

          • @mmd: They will keep saying no to a stocked item that has gone temporarily out of stock. Best way is ring around and find a store that will do it, then ask them to transfer the order to your local store, then call and pay for it
