  • Can I activate my new SIM with any Samsung phone?

No, the offer is only valid for customers who have purchased a new Samsung phone on and
after 25 March 2022, who also took up a new Medium or above Telstra SIM-only mobile plan.

The offer ends 26 May 2022.

  • How long do I have to activate my new SIM in my new Samsung phone?

You need to use your new Telstra SIM in your new Samsung phone within 1 month of your
phone being shipped, to be eligible for the offer.

  • How long will it take to receive my unique code?

Once you've activated your new SIM-only plan in your new Samsung phone, your voucher code
will be sent to you via email or SMS within 28 days.

  • What happens if I don't redeem my unique code within 3 months?

Your unique code will expire after 90 days from the date that you received the code via an
email or SMS.

  • How do they know if its a new phone, do they track via imei

    • I doubt it that Bunnings sells phones, and is listed as one of the stores.

      • Sorry participating retailers is where you can redeem the gift card. I've updated the description to reflect this.

    • how does this even work? They have to have the list of all IMEIs retailed in Australia, and do phones send their imei when connect to the network (I have no idea)?

      • The first point I'm not sure but for the second IMEI is sent upon registering to network.

  • tried signing up to 1$ deal. Doesn't work. "Something went wrong. We're unable to process your order at this time".

    • It doesn't specify anywhere that you have to buy a new phone from Telstra. It just states you have to use a new Samsung phone within 1 month of delivery.

      The crucial wording is "SIM Only plan"

      • Any Samsung phone purchased after 25 March 2022.

      • They might have updated their website as I reread it again yesterday and I believe the phone has to be purchased from Samsung directly

  • Pretty sure the $1 deal expired and this is the new one. Offer is full price in cart they just haven't removed it from the landing page

    • This deal is independent of the $1 deal which was only valid for one day. They both stacked and also got cashback hopefully as well.

      I've seen a roughly $81 Samsung phone on clearance at a retailer. I think it should work even though it's an older model.

    • That is a different site. Telstra is offering the deal, so Telstra have to honour their agreement. There was no link to that site in the order flow. It's a legal grey area admittedly.

    • not yet, interested to know too if anyone already received theirs. I asked the live chat last week, she said wait until first week of June (28 days from the day I ordered my Sim)

      • at first, they told me 28 days from the day I ordered my SIM which is Today and today they told me 28 days from active the SIM

      • Purchased 6th May and also added the Telstra sim in my cart at checkout. Bought Telstra sim and activated on 20th May.

              Ordered Sim and phone on 5th/6th May night.
              Sim came preactivated 10th May and phone arrived 17th May.
              Very close to one month mark for the Telstra plan and no code yet :/

                    I contacted Telstra 24th May and back then they said to wait.
                    I contacted Samsung on 6th June to get them to update the status of my online order from preparing dispatch in case that was the issue. And while Samsung staff was looking up the details, status coincidentally changed to dispatched.

                    No idea if that helped.

                        • @snorkey: Nice! Thanks for the update. My Samsung order status just changed to dispatched too even though phone arrived almost a bit less than a month ago. It looks like they have a monthly process which they run. Will keep a lookout for the email too.
