Xbox Wireless Controller - Robot White - $78 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ Harvey Norman

140

After buying a new xbox from Microsoft deal overnight, I now need to source a second controller. MS is our of stock and many others.

I know HN isn't popular here and I decided against buying myself, but may be a deal for others. It was the cheapest I could see.

I'll wait for someone more reputable to go on sale.

  • Thanks Zed. I don't have access unfortunately. Probably too much effort for $17…maybe… :)

I thought we hated Harvey Norman…

I'm tempted… I want to sign for the Xbox live pass and need a controller.

  • this or getting it free from telstra. hmmmmm

    • How do you get it free from Telstra? I could only find them for $89 on their site.

      • Telstra points. its a perk of being a telstra customer you can get free stuff.

        • Just looked it up, $3000 worth of purchases or bill payments for a controller.
Not too bad if you're already a Telstra customer.

          • @d1s34s3d: well no telstra usually will do deals with any phone or anything you purchanse like for example last year they gave 100,000 points for free with any new phone at the time. Then there was the vax pack that gave you 2000 points if you provided you were vaccinated. then there were a few other bonus ones as well so you dont' need to spend that much at all you just need to be a telstra customer during there deals.

            • @kungfuman: 50k points for $2 and 2 months of nbn today

If you're happy with an aftermarket controller then Data Frog controller from aliexpress for $37.21 delivered

    • Could take ages to receive.

      • Took 3 weeks from ordering to receiving

    • These look good however you need to use a USB slot for each one. That's kinda prohibitive no?

      • I wonder if you could run multiple with a usb hub?

    • Does Windows detect it as an XBox controller?
The only gripe I have with my Dualshock 4 is that I have to run some 3rd party mapping software like DS4W in order for it to work in Windows store games. So if this one solves that problem, it's great.

      • Only using it with xbox s x (or what ever its called)

    • Do you have a link? As they have a few types… But does not look the same…

      • this is it but appears to have increased in price slightly

        Thanks for clarifying

  • Thanks OP, really appreciate you posting the bargain price when everywhere is out of stock with these controllers

  • Not much stock around, BTW. Maroochydore, Rockhampton and Mackay have a few in white. Other stores only have 1 or 2.

  • I notice good guys currently have a promo TOP10 which drops their price to $80.95. Some stock around me.

I just signed up to REST Super cbr got a commercial account (5 min) and bought for $72.

  • Good guys retail site has it for 80ish using code TOP10.

    • with 6% cashback at shopback today (and code is on shopback site) brings it to about $76

  • Sorry, Iam new to Xbox controls.
Can we recharge batteries for this wireless controls (I presume it’s a battery operated )

    • I believe they're replaceable on the xbox. Though you can buy charging packs/docks. I believe PS were rechargeable.

    • takes standard AA batteries so you can use your eneloop stash.

    • You can replace the AA batteries with your rechargable batteries, but you can not recharge your rechargable batteries with this controller unless you use the additional charging dock

Xbox wireless controllers takes AA batteries, but there after aftemarket rechargeable batteries pack that will fit the battery compartment
I bought the Xbox controller over PS5 specifically because it can take AA batteries for extended game sessions. ; )

The easy answer is - Yes.

The controller takes normal AA batteries. You can use rechargable batteries if you want instead, but you still have to take them out to charge them. You cannot charge them while they are still in the controller.

There are also a range of battery packs that can replace the normal batteries that will then make them work with a charging dock. Google this though as there are many different options out there.
