I ordered an Novo 7 Mars tablet from RedTabletPC and was told that their stock was defective, and they're considering on returning it back to the manufacturer.

I have a message tell you . before tablets shipped, we test tablet for every members, we looking NOVO7 MARS have many problem, we have 20 PCS in stock , all have many problem , such as: wifi can't use, screen dead pixels, we hope our client receive perfect products from us , we want return mars to factory, can u waiting good mars ? or change to other tablets ?

Looks like the first production batch of Mars tablets are no-go's — recommend holding off purchase.
Some new AINOL models just came out. These tablets don't exist in the table yet, so perhaps it should be updated soon.

Ainol Novo 7 Mars - $123.99 (as of today) from RedTabletPC or SPEMALL $129
These 2 are single CPU core models, and possibly replace the older ELF and Paladin series which use MIPS processors.
You can preorder the second generation Novo 7 Aurora II from SPEMALL for around $190. Not much difference in terms of performance compared to the first generation Aurora — the only difference is the LG branded IPS screen.
