DSE had 25% off an i5 and it was $433 with 1gb video ram, 4gb of ddr3 ram. They had limited stock but some was at Marion for click and collect. But that deal finished. I hate these deals where they don't stock up and the deal doesn't last for long. I'm trying to recommend a laptop for someone and I didn't see them for a couple of days then the promotion ended. Now it feels like there going to get ripped off. Because i3 laptops should easily be around $400, just really greedy companies out there.

Keep in mind RAM is very cheap to upgrade… you can get a 4GB stick for under $30 so if you see a model that appeals to you but doesn't have the RAM you want its still worth considering…
Make sure it's DDR3 though, sure most machines should be DDR3 now but in case you go for a superseded model be aware coz (as with most legacy hardware) DDR2 prices are climbing! ;)
Harvey Norman has half price laptops at the moment. Seems to be limited to the models with Quad Core AMD processors however I'd rate them as highly as an i3…

Not a huge fan of HP or AMD processors but at that price its hard to beat.
