  Always had problems with the sliding mechanisms on these getting weak over time, so every time you go to plug them in they'd just slide back.

    Yes, the sliding mechanism is the reason why I avoid these. Personally I would go for these:

  Good price but I have several of these and the sliding mechanism is not that robust and is a pain to use. Rather get one with a fixed plug.
