Long story short, we booked flights a few months ago direct with Singapore Airlines to Europe, recently they sent us an email changing our flights to depart two days before our original day.
This is an issue because we have a wedding on that day and most of our reason of going to Europe in the first place. We have spent a few hours on call with them at the moment and the most they have explained to us is that we are booked on a different fare class and thus ineligible for our original date.
Do we have any recourse on this matter? Deeply disappointed with the SG airlines service, the customer service rep was extremely unhelpful and refused to escalate our issue.
Has anyone had anything similar happen to them? And what was the outcome?
Did your flight booking ever get a "confirmed" status? If so, you should be entitled to change flight to another date and/or get a refund as the change is from their end. I had this happen on the way back from UK when Singapore retimed flight because of late arrival of inbound aircraft (only 1 a day). If the booking was never "confirmed" then maybe less of a leg to stand on, check your records.
