nbn Churning Strategy - Share Your Rotation

Switched from Tangerine to Superloop. Not too impressed with Superloop, supposed 50/20 sometimes streaming stalls, signal not as strong as Tangerine using the same modem.

Where to transfer next? With promo of course.

Is there an nbn rotation you use. Say, Tang > SL > ABB > TPG > Dodo then back to Tang

As far as “signal not as strong as Tangerine” goes, that’s not a thing. It’s NBN hardware as far as “signal” goes.

Routing at the ISP and the amount of CVC they have would be what’s affecting your perceived quality of the service

It's NBN hardware as far as “signal” goes.

If by "signal" OP means WiFi, then stop using/buying RSP-provided hardware for your home network. Get yourself a decent router and WAP (see here for recommendations) and then churn away.

I finally gave up rotating after going on myrepublic. I finally realised having a decent ISP was worth more to me than saving a few bucks after some of the craptastic speeds I got out of them.

Unless another Origin deal pops up, that is. They had a $250 woolies giftcard for signing up for 45 days which apparently started from signup date, not install date. I signed up with a delayed install date and I only ever paid for a month of internet with them. Some deals are too good to ignore.

Have you done some speed tests on device/modem and looked at your traffic while streaming? Even if you're only getting half the 50mbps then it should be fine for 4K streaming. However if you have any other traffic it doesn't take much to cause headaches, some device downloading a couple of hundred meg update in a short period might be enough to cause issues.

No perfect strategy, just need to proactively keep looking at deals near the time your current NBN promo expires, (If no deal that time, then you can switch to Launtel ( because of their daily charges instead of monthly like others) and also no ISP exit fee i think too either, As soon as you get a new deal hoop onto their straight away, if you cannot hoop straight then go with launtel route.

    ABB been good so far.

      Except for their prices.

      • True it was one of the only options for 1000/50 though

        • You must watch a lot of Netflix…

@jv: Honestly I just wanted smooth Xcloud streaming (which this achieved) … the better experience with rdp and video calls for work was a nice bonus I guess

  • Started with Tangerine. Nothing wrong with the connection and speed but their billing system sucks. The online help tried to bully me to pay an extra month upon termination even after I stated that my account is up to date. Insisted that I pay up but I refused and requested for my account statement before I do. I ended up with a $25 credit in my account from referrals.

Into my third month with SpinTel now. The speed is slightly slower than Tangerine and had 1 downtime. Their billing system is great 10x better than Tangerine.

Might move back to Tangerine after 3 more months if they allow me to. Otherwise might think about Superloop or More with the Commbank 30% off for 12 months offer.

    • I got bullied into paying that extra month at termination :(
That's was the end of my journey in churning.

    • with the Commbank 30% off for 12 months offer.

I'm getting much better speeds with More, compared to Superloop.

    • Is SpinTel having any promotion?

Still waiting for my woolies gift card from econnex…

after free months end, i am planning to get this and call it a day

    • +1

I've been with them a couple of months now and averaging around 98/20 for my 100/20 connection, even during peak….

Superloop sucks. I had so many dropouts with them in the 6 months Ive been with them.

    I'm fttp: I was with Aussiebroadband> > leaptel > superloop > spintel

Out of all 4, spintel is the best for me, literally zero dropouts so far.

Out of the 4 I've been with, I like spintel > leaptel > aussiebb > superloop

  • Superloop wasn’t great - particularly as we had a fault and they were slow to raise with NBNCo.

Moved to Internode as they’re one of the smaller ISPs that offer a free 4G backup option which I now can’t live without having been through 2 x 10 day NBN faults/outages

  • telstra $1/mth for first 2 months. Sign up on telstra day.

  • Merged from What Is Your NBN 6month Promo Plan Discount Hoping Technique

By now savvy NBN users that want to save a buck would be hoping from provider to provider to take advantage of those 6 month NBN promo offers

So far I have hopped from Kogan > Internode > Tangerine > Superloop

Some providers you can go back after a year and promo would work again as you would be seen as a new customer

Once you run out of sign ups, what have people done? Put the account under partner's name?

Please share your technique or if there is an endless loop that can be followed?

    • take advantage of those 6 month NBN promo offers

      or the 12/24 month ones…

      • which ones

        • +1

          More Telecom, 30% off deal.

          • @jv: very nice thanks

          • @jv: ya all their 30% is for CBA customers…. guess I could get a card

            • @Poor Ass: yes, you need a CBA credit or debit card.

      • what is a 24m you have seen?

        • More Telecom, but it was targetted.

          via the CBA Rewards app

    • Put the account under someone else's name

So far I have been with Aussiebroadband> > leaptel > superloop > spintel

Leaptel usually have really good deals and they are really stable IMO. I used them in two homes so far and never had a problem with them.

  • Anyone know how to return telstra modem? Just churned to origin

    • Go to store or just to go Australia Post and send the modem to this address:

      Brightstar Logistics Operations Centre
      Reply Paid 6051
      CHULLORA NSW 1405

This is the instruction I got from the online team.
