looking for a screen for my home assistant, reckon this will work?

    • You will have same issues as the Show 8 or 10. I'd suggest mounting a large Android Tablet.

      • 15" tho.
Are there any 15" android tablet?
Note that I'm not interested in buying, just here for the comments ^^

use the keywords: touchscreen android 15" and you will get quite a lot of hits on google.

            @slowmo:

            quite a lot

hardly, they are USB screen. Only 1 hit is a 15" tablet at Alibaba

      • i grown to hate the echo show 8 gen 2. it's slow on response, the response is so light on the information, it picks up unnecessarily in the middle of a conversation.

touch screen is laggy as heck, i kept having to redo the swipes.

        piece of junk.

        • Agreed, returned mine after a week of use. No idea how they manage to make their flagship products such an awful experience.

        • I find the echo to be more reactive than Google nest. UI is better too imo.
          Not very impressed by Google.

Reviews have not been stellar. I will wait for the 2nd gen, maybe end of this year.

Why buy this - now you can download the same Alexa software on any Win 10 or Win 11 PC, your better off having a laptop or old PC dedicated to this.

To make this compelling, it needs some sensors, such as inside temp, humidity and air quality. Then I would get them (to replace my aging Sentri's).

Don't see the value prop right now.

    • I'm not sure how practical having a pc/laptop on the wall of your kitchen exactly is?

      • -1

a pc tablet is just as flat. why not?

        • how many of those are 15" and cost $350?

          • -2

@ONEMariachi: don't shift your goal posts when your question is already answered.

you question about the practicality, i pointed out there's already a similar form factor.

i like my $350 device to be able to clean my bathroom too, but here we are.

            • @slowmo: If you don’t think pricing is part of that practicality on Ozbargain. I’m not exactly sure what you’re doing here.

it needs to have youtube or no deal!

    • imo, it needs to have firefox with ublock origin installed.

  • not the best price drop

Do you have a link to the best one?

    • Prime Day I suspect (or did smile day replace it?)

    • “not the best first price drop“

  • +2

I think this is the first price drop since released?

    • Yeah I think your right
