I find mine great to take camping. flashlight is decent, usb ports to charge my phone and jump start if car battery goes flat.

…and just found out I can power my Kings camping LED bars from its 12V/10A DC output.

      • thats what ive got too. How long do they last before battery drains?

        • well, embarrassingly, I am not sure. I went camping for 3 days and tried to use it by connection GooLoo alligator clips to LED light alligator clips but only worked for 30 seconds when I pressed the "boost" button so put it away…only found the GooLoo DC output when I was looking up a DC to USB connector to see if that would work.

I believe it will depend on how many LED you are powering and at what strength. I have 5 light bars with dimmer switches so there are many variables….someone may know the math?

          I did a few tests.

This was able to power my camp led cob light on full brightness 2400 lumens (maybe 100w) for 2 hours. On the lowest setting for 18 hours.
Also tried my Rovin 30L fridge for 2.5 hours on eco.
Although the fridge was empty but already pre chilled

          Also got the Gooloo GT4000.
Weird but was only able to power the camp led light for about 1.5 hours on full brightness.
The fridge however I was able to power for 4 hours.

Also keep in mind the Gooloo 1200A will switch off when the fridge compressor isn’t running. It must assume it’s not charging anything so switches off.
Only way round it is if I charge my phone at the same time to keep it powered on.

The Gooloo GT4000 however can constantly keep the fridge running.

          • @PorkBun: Thanks. That's surprisingly way worse than I was expecting!

Why not the GT1500 for $10 more? 300 more amps. Better case design.

    • +5

      +1 for 1500A version.

It has type C for charging instead of a separate AC power plug.

    • +2

Yes. if $10 doesn't bother much then 1500 is good option too. Deserve posting as new deal.

      • Posted. Thanks.

    • Looks like the GT1500 includes the adaptor needed to power a 12v cigarette device too.

      • Please could someone help me figure this out
with the GT1500, how do you charge it?

Plan a trip to the US, they run on around 100V
would I be able to charge it there?

        thanks

        • +1

USB C port does in and out, I think only at 18w

          • @whomst: does that I mean I have to charge it via a computer?
or will it be possibly via a plug point
            not sure what 18W means

            • @docians: Power brick with USB output. USB A or C is fine, just have the right cable. 18W or higher output from the brick will give you the fastest charging. The power brick will need to have US power prongs.

              • @sween64: so something like my android phone charger?

if I use an adaptor with american prongs + android phone charger+ nintendo switch charging wire (assuming that is usb-c) I should be able to charge it?

                • @docians: Yes you can charge it that way. A "USB C to USB C" or "USB A to USB C" cable is all you need, depending upon the power source (and as long as that power source is powerful enough i.e. has enough wattage usually denoted in amp. Laptops and PCs are not that powerful but power bricks from laptops, Nintendo switch, and some phone/ tablet chargers are).
For voltage, if your Australian charger says 110-220V, you can easily use that anywhere in the world as it automatically switches between 110v and 220v.

                  • @Sfh1975: last question( I hope)

if my android charger is 12W does it mean it is not strong enough to charge if the device needs 15 W

or just that it will take longer than 5hours to fully charge

                    thanks

        seems GT1500 is 15V/10A
        1200A is 12V/10A

        i had 2000A with15v before, didn't power my pump.

    • +2

Agree the 1500A really gets me going when I use it on my nipples. I can’t really go back to 1200A after that but it may be good for a beginner.

      • Do the alligator clips bite strong enough?

    • I will wait Upgraded 2000A for $10 more.

Bought the 1500GT for $10 more! I have already bought this before, but it is so good that a family member has borrowed it and never returned it! An excellent unit, so I have ordered another 1500GT today! Thanks for posting the 1200A deal, but the 1500GT deal is much better! 8% back at Cashback!

Bought one of these a year ago. Used it in a real world emergency (wife's Kia Carnival was dead flat) a month ago. Only minor complaint is I needed to use the hidden boost button on the jump cable which was well nigh impossible to find on a moonless night, but once I did the car fired instantly. I'm tempted to get another to keep in my car…..

      • Why did you need the boost button? Carnival was diesel or petrol?

        • Petrol, but battery was totally dead so needed the extra zappage.

        • I boost my Carnival diesel 5+ times easily done.

    • 8%? I thought automotive was only 2%.

  • Have this one and it works great. Saved us from having to wait for road side assistance.

  • How does this brand compare to the FOWAWU ones - 1500A for $76 or 2000A for $90? Anyone know?

    • Like this one - https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0936WVT3Z/?

      Want to know as well.

    • Read the reviews for your answers

      • Plenty of very good reviews, a few bad ones. I did read this "There is no boost function (unlike some of the Gooloo jump starters)" so that's maybe a relevant detail.

  • Bought the 1500A too. :)

  • +1

What's the point of having an expensive one like the GOOLOO GT4000S, if both of them can start a car anyway.

    • +2

Well because I own a truck and cars and 4000 has 24 month stand by

      • Well I ordered it yesterday. I guess I'm keeping it in then.

  • Anyone know how I can get in touch with the company directly? I’ve got a 2000A jump starter that won’t charge by USB C
    Tried different wires etc

  • I recently had to use my 2000, really easy to use and jump started the car on the first go.

  • Does anyone know if we can use something like this to keep battery charged (i.e. for battery tendering purpose)? I ask as my motorcycle sits in a place where there's no mains outlet..

    • Maybe get a solar battery charger? I am not sure if this one will serve your purpose as is and without some extra circuitry, I may be wrong though.

      • +1

        thanks for the suggestion

  • Anyone know how these hold up? I want one that will last.

    • I have one for almost a year. 3 different cars/vans jump started, charged it only recently for the second time from 12v socket. It still has three bars and I used some of the USB ports to charge other devices. Really good unit and ai can fully recommend it.

    • Last as in while sitting in the boot or last as in repeated charge/ discharge cycles? These should last as they are just lithium cells with some discharge overtime. If you want something that will last probably forever, you can get the battery-less ones with built in capacitor. Those suck the last drop out of your battery for 5 minutes of more and then start the car with that.

  • Bought the 1500A version since it got some killer reviews!

  • +1

Probably an obvious question, but IF you are unlucky enough that your car catches fire when you use this, will you be covered by insurance?

Is it built according to the relevant Australian safety standards?
