  • so where is the bargain ???

  • weren't some people on whirlpool claiming that last time it was a scam?

This lowest unique bid thing is a competition not a bargain.

  • Comp, not a bargain.

    bargain*

    Reverse auctions are scams.

isn't that only when you have to pay per bid?

This is basically an unlicensed form of gambling. IMO it doesn't have a place on ozbargain at all

    • +6

how is this gambling? You are not betting anything. It's just a competition.

i stand corrected. i misread this:

Bids will be in denominations of 50 cents.

Thanks for posting skytree. It took me < 1 min to fill out the 'auction', cost me nothing (they already have my details) and maybe I might win something.

  • Thanks skytree. Link is here for anyone who wants it - http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/cons/groups/public/documents/f…

Sorry Good Guys but I hate this entire concept. It's a random raffle that will waste 99.999999% of participants time. With 50c increments and having to be the only one to select your price these will not sell cheap.

You'd be better off heading to Australia Post for the 20% off Good Guys gift cards, because you'll probably pay more to "win" any of these items.

    • Win, pay with 20% gift cards…double win

    So where are the results?
I bid on everything but did not expect to win given the number of people bidding.
I do wonder how real this auction was and would be keen to see the results.

      Very helpful. Amazingly everything SOLD.

I'd like to know the results so I can price-match at my local ;)

  • so did anyone win?

  • $258.50 - LG 50” Full HD Plasma TV
    $136 - Whirlpool 6kg Dryer
    $204 - Acer Aspire Notebook
    $169 - F&P Dishwasher
    $146 - Teac 39” TV/DVD Combo
    $148 - Samsung 3D Blu-ray Player
    $142 - Sharp Microwave
    $104 - Breville Wizz Pro
    $152 - Blackberry Playbook
    $95.50 - Fuji Finepix Camera
    $130 - Sony Handycam,
    $194.50 - Electrolux 6kg Front Load washer
    $131 - Topfield PVR
    $218 - Delonghi Espresso Machine
    $105.50 - Hisense 29 Bottle Wine Cooler
    $245 - Westinghouse 430L Fridge!

Notice that most are sold at even $ value…most people think that *.50c is the better odds. I was close with most of the final values, just 50c or a dollar out on some :(

    • looking at the results, seems only the big winners are white goods… rest doesn't look like really good deals.
