I'm going to take a shot everytime someone mentions Wuben C3.

  • Good deal. Wurkkos is reliable, great performing torch. I have FC11, FC12, FC11 Purple & TS21. Only regret is TS21, Sofirn IF25A is better. FC11 & FC12 are great bang for buck.

I've purchased a lot of FC11 for presents to give to relatives, friends and work colleagues. Highly recommended. Check out Wurkkos TS30S for a light with character https://wurkkos.com/products/ts30s-usb-c-rechargeable-flashl…

    • How do you reckon the TS30S stacks up against the IF22A? πŸ˜…

      • +1

IF22A uses optic to focus beam and throw further, TS30S with SBT90 is brute force :)

        • Great explaination actually, was thinking to grab one since it seems like a decent mid-size thrower-ish.

Was thinking to fit it in between my IF22A and SP36 Pro but I it might even outperform the SP36 Pro for functionality..

          • @[Deactivated]: I don't have a TS30S but very happy with the SBT90 torches I have, great range and plenty of lumens Convoy L7 WildTrail WT90 Lumintop X9L Convoy L8

Finally a deal on a warm white light. 4000k is king.

    • Trying to decide between the 4000 and 5000 colour temps - do they have the same CRI?

      • +1

CRI is independent of color temperature. You could have something at 5000K and different CRI.

You prob won't notice CRI (just go for over 90) so I'd say go with your preferred colour temp. Then eventually you'll get the other one lol

Thanks for the advice. I ended up going for 4000K because I thought the 5000K were easier to get across different brands. As you said, I will probably have regrets and buy the 5000K in the not too distant future. :)

    Cheap for a fleshlight.

    • Certainly what I read only to be very disappointed clicking the link

  • Is this very bright at night?

  • I heard that newer batches of the FC11 have a lower moonlight. I wonder if this one does…

I am seeing all these great flashlights being advertised here but I am just put off by how complicated their UI seems. Are there any good flashlights around that only has low, medium, high and off from button presses?

    • +1

I don't particularly like the complicated UIs either. I mean I can personally live with them, but just lending the torches to kids for a bit and sure enough they somehow manage to get it to one of more obscure blinky modes and I'll have to dig out the manual again to see how to get it back to normal. Same issue keeps me from getting any of the better torches as presents for elderly relatives.

      • This is my use case! I want to give some torches to my nieces and I know they'll manage to switch on either blink mode or burn retina mode and I am sure the parents won't know what to do then. Any flashlight experts here who can recommend us stuff?

I think Anduril UI is Ok.
Standardisation is great and it would be wonderful if all torches use the same UI.
But so far I got single torch with Anduril UI only - Sofirn IF25A with 4000k emitters. I got it recently and I like it so far.

For small AA torches (Eneloop compatible) I like simplicity of Olight i5T EOS. The tint is a bit cold for me still. And full price is a bit high. But two modes, always starting on low - I find it very easy to use.

I've read a lot of good things about ZebraLight. But the models I wanted are more expensive and harder to buy here. So I still don't have any.

      100%.
I put this flashlight into the basket. Then watched a review. Then removed it from the basket.
I don't like flashlights which are blasting full power every time you switch them on.
I have a headlight like this and it is pain to use - it blinds you before you switch to lower power mode.

Don't let that wall of text confuses you, I think it's pretty simple. Click to turn on to previous used mode, click and hold to cycle through all the mode, click to turn off, simple and easy.

Yeah, the diagrams aren't great but flashlights have one button so it's not too bad. Anduril is a good UI that can be quite simple for your use case and advanced if you want it to be. There are some purely text based instructions floating around that might be easier for you.

I've summarised the main simple uses below.

      Single click: on/off
Single click and hold when on or off: light ramps up or down
Double click when off: max non-turbo brightness
Double click when on: turbo mode
NB: some lights will store the last non-turbo brightness level

Factory reset: Unscrew so the power is disconnected. Hold button and screw back in. Light should ramp up and flash
