200$OFF

I've been looking around for a decent desktop for ages and seriously considered either Techfast or BPC as an option instead of attempting to build my own.

Not a computer bloke but this seems alright for the price. What do you all reckon?

PC TOWER Specifications:

If this is the same guy then he doesn't get good reviews. Slightly different name though https://au.trustpilot.com/review/www.mikescomputershop.com

    • The links point to reviews from Canada. This bloke is based in South Australia

Sorry I didn't check it properly- please ignore my post

This is also the guy that posts builds up on Facebook in Melbourne saying his location is Melbourne, then he's actually in Adelaide which he writes in the ad description.

If it stinks like shit, it's probably faeces.

I have a feeling this PO is affiliated with this shop…
Because this is not a deal at all…

    • -1

Like I said - I'm not a computer guy. Also not affiliated but trying to get the best at the cheapest price

Why make this a deal post when you can make a forum post asking your question?

I bought a pc from Bpc tech a few months ago at the same price and got 3080, 12700kf, 32gb 3600mhz ram, and 1tb gen4 ssd. This deal has double the ram and ssd, plus a 6900xt which can be similar in performance to a 3090 though it has less vram(but more vram than the 3080) really just depends whether you need dlss and ray tracing, or any application that makes use of ray tracing and tensor cores. Only has a 120mm AIO cooler paired with a 12 core cpu, not sure whether that is sufficient cooling, i am also questioning the ssd when I searched the ssd it comes up as a sata ssd which is not very fast by todays standards so boot times, and read/write speeds will be slow by todays standards. I’m genuinely questioning why there isn’t even a 500gb Nvme m.2 ssd in the build. Like the cpu, gpu, ram, and psu are all good but the cpu cooling, ssd is kind of shit. Overall not sure if this a good deal or not.

    • Yep you nailed it, some strange skimping on relatively cheap areas for what is otherwise aiming to be a premium build…

  • Good ad 👍

Probably would have been better off with one of the Dell XPS 12900k DDR5 deals that have been here.

  • +6

    The price is ok but

    • TWO 1tb budget SATA ssd instead of using one 2tb?
I would expect an m.2 drive in a $3000 pc

    • 120mm liquid cooler is pointless, better off with an air cooler if you are using something so small, it would be less noisy

    • includes a 1080p monitor
The bonus screen is nice, but it's probably garbage, especially when you pair it with a decent GPU. Value about $250, but I would prefer $100 credit on the pc, or towards an a monitor you would actually enjoy looking at

    • free keyboard, mouse, headset
Unknown quality, ok I guess if you don't have a set already. I expect the stuff you can find at kmart, $50 value.

Agree with above, the dell 12900k is not just a better deal, it's a significantly better pc

Don't think anyone will risk to hand over $3400 like this … In this case, much safer to just get the Dell XPS, at least you are 100% you will receive that!

    • Yeah considered that deal but a comment mentioned about Dell overheating and I don't really want to buy something that will shit itself when I don't know how to fix it.

      • I don't really want to buy something that will shit itself when I don't know how to fix it.

How do you know this won't shit itself?

If I'm not mistaken the PSU included is problematic and known to explode. Do some review searches on it and you'll see

    dealt with this guy before.

he basically buys techfast pc's and resells them for a higher price. hence the allied branding

    • Ahh ok. Tried finding the equivalent there but nothing comes close to this build but my only complaint is that the case is too big. He replied and said it was 200x550x500 - also not a fan of RGB.

      • +2

lol… even a cursory glance at these forums shows better value… Yet you are pimping an Adelaide based reseller…

Maybe you should try your luck on FB marketplace 🤣🤣

        • I have tried FB Marketplace but some people want around $2500-$3k for a 3060 build

    • +7

LOL, now the whole ozbargain community know MikePC = resell TF PC + profit. He won't able to do this anymore …
