    • One with Bluetooth I think is much more useful despite costing $2.75 more

    Azau đź‘Ž

  • WTF. I got an email after the purchase saying “Welcome to Eastlands”. Are they selling details for marketing purposes?

    That’s dodgy as hell.

    • -3

      We're all happy for you.
Do you post every email you receive on OzBargain?

      • +1

The point is, they shared personal details without consent.

        • -1

What are you basing that on?

          • +1

@McFly: The fact that I got the email shortly after, with a name I only used for this order.

            • @cnut: So you used a unique fake name when you registered with azau?

              • @McFly: A name I rarely use (haven't probably for a few months now), when I sign up to sites I haven't used before that I don't totally trust. So either it's a big coincidence or something is up. I get random spam stuff, but not from a legitimate place in another Australian state. 🤷‍♂️

                • @cnut:

                  it's a big coincidence

                  Bingo!

        • From memory, wasn't there a checkbox at checkout consenting to mail?

I didn't receive any spam mail, but then I didn't tick the box either. Not that I'm aware of any link between Eastlands(?) and Azau…

          • @UncleRico: I don't remember exactly what the options were, but I remember not opting for emails. Eastlands seems to be a shopping centre in Tasmania. Azau is apparently based in SA, so I don't know. Although they do have 'vendors' selling through their site, whatever that means.

  • I just got mine…I do not know what to think.

Its got a brand name called ekkie than in the box its just a cheaped up made in china lamp box.

It also requires me to put the light strip on?

Will report later when testing. Just first impressions.

same here. this is the reply I received from them:

Based on our internal discussion, the product that you received is an upgraded version with some issues with the packaging from our supplier.
      The version you received is taller 155 x 8 x 8cm instead of 145 x 8 x 8cm (indicated in the specs tab)
It has Bluetooth, App and Voice control functions, compared to the remote only function for the previous version.

so we actually got the better model

      • Oh snap. I was like why is it so tall?
Have I been lying about my height all these years lol.

      • What tape are we supposed to peel off to attach to pole? Do we pull off the white backing on the strip?
I am a little confused on this step lol

        • Do we pull off the white backing on the strip?

yes I believe so. I simply used blutack at multiple points (on top of the white backing) so it’s easier to take apart in the future (just in case)

          • @skido: Ok I found it was the thinest opening for the backing.

            All stuck on now:)

  • Random question guys, did anyone's spam call frequency (from just next day) increased after buying things from Azau ? Just wondering..!!

    • +1

      Not me:)

  • +1 this is awesome. What an added bonus being taller and also bluetooth and voice functions!!
    Ripper!

  • got mine, wasnt an upgraded model that people are saying above, still an ekki brand…5 mins to put together and working fine with the IR remote

  • +1

Im impressed with the light. Can download the App and run from my phone via Bluetooth which I wasnt expecting. Ive been running it off a powerbank. I'd love a small version of this 1/2 metres long wand with same ability to chase and control lights through for use in lightpainting

    • Yep. The blue tooth connection, app, extra height & brightness and two day delivery were all expected bonuses after the listing which under- rather than over- promised. By the sounds of it, some people got the advertised model without all the extras, perhaps explaining why it was such an ambiguous listing on AZAU in the first place.

Either way, from everyone who received either of the two apparent models - thanks again to the OP and AZAU.

  • Box lists the model as EK-LP-100-SJ and dimensions 156cm height x39x39cm base

  • I managed to bought one however, Aramax has "delivered" mine to the wrong house.
Does anyone know if azau does replacements by any chance?

  • Mine arrived today and it was the smart one. Win win.

    • Me too - it's pretty decent especially for the price point

  • Mine got delivered today. Quick review…

You should know that it's a toy / gimmick / party thing, not a proper room light, which is a shame because that's what I was looking for. I would have liked a mode that did warm, mid and cool white lights, but it only does a cool white, then a range of seven colours, and some pulsing multicolour party mode.

Physicall it seems pretty well constructed with metal feet and plastic vertical. Pushing the plastic verticals together didn't quite bed in all the way, but it's reasonably rigid.

    • My ebay one turned out to be quite good - aluminium tube and steel base

      • Could you share your eBay link please @julz?
        Thanks in advance.
