I nuked a phone with a baseus car charger once.
I dunno. Is it worth it these days or still questionable quality?
It's absolutely a risk, definitely more so with a GPO charger that can pass through a much higher voltage.
These cheap car ones, like all other cheap ones, are still a very good fire hazard.
It's a low likelihood high consequence event, and people (especially here!) roll the dice that it doesn't happen to them and they save money.

I have alot of Baseus cables. I've only had one die on me, a Lightning cable. They gave me a refund. Apart from that one, pretty happy with the quality generally.
I read some reports that their USB-C cables weren’t grounding properly, so maybe take some caution on expensive electronics. I went back to Blitzwolf which seem higher quality and certified.
That might explain it. The Lightning cable which broken shorted itself. I was charging my iPhone, came back to the electronics burning smell and the cable not working anymore. Phone seems to be ok, the cable no longer charges or transfer data after that.
My iPhone is not charging properly with this after 15.2 update
