Bi-direction HDMI Switch 4K 60 Hz
1. It can be used in two different ways:
———2 in 1 out HDMI switcher mode, switch between two HDMI inputs to one output.
———1 in 2 out HDMI splitter mode, split one input signal to two displays (Only 1 screen works at a time, not simultaneously).

  1. Supports resolutions up to 4K x 2K at 60hz YUV4:4:4, full 3D video format, HDMI 2.0, HDCP2.2/1.4, HDR, 18Gbps video bandwidth and ARC (Only Port 1 supports ARC function).

  2. Some of the 4K TVs, if they don't turn on HDMI enhanced format, the TVs only support 4K 60Hz 4:2:0 (such as Sony 4K TV), check your TV manual for setting HDMI signal format to Enhanced format.

  3. Using Premium High-Speed HDMI cable which supports 18Gbps, and the input and the output cables length are not over 1.5 meters

  4. If screen flickering, recommend replacing a shorter cable due to short cables being less susceptible to interference.

  • So this could help me easily switch between my Apple TV and my Kodi box?
One cable from projector to this device, and then two short cables to each HDMI input signals.

Any quality loss or issues with audio?

Digital signals (eg hdmi) don’t suffer picture/audio quality loss; it’ll either work (you get signal!) or not (dropped frames, stuttering etc)

They did mention a warning about really long cables, but that’s nothing new/special to this. Swapping for a shorter/better cable usually fixes this (less attenuation)

I bought an identical one recently.

    $10.99 here :

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Ezonedeal-Splitter-Bidirectional-S…

It works fine for video, have not tested audio. I am actually using two of these coupled together to create a 2in - 2out switching scenario.

    • I bought the same one you've listed, and it does what it needs to do! Havent tested audio either

    • The link you share is an HDMI V1.4 Switcher with a resolution of only up to 4K 30Hz.

      • I see.

I am not using it for 4k anyway, so I can't test my unit.

Be careful with these cheap hdmi switche/box, got one from Amazon last week, one of the chip in the box was damage, burnt when power connected, it killed the USB power brick and the connected hdmi port on the projector.

    • This HDMI Switcher won't have the same problem as you because it doesn't have a USB power supply port.

This kind of problem you have is generally because the wrong power supply is connected, which causes the HDMI interface to be damaged. For example, the 5V power supply is wrongly connected to 12V, or the chip is short-circuited and the current is large, and so on.

  • Good luck having these kinds of boxes work for >3 months. I've bought two HDMI/SPDIF splitters, both identical in every way but different brand and about 2 years apart, both break down after 2-3 months of use.

  • Fair warning.. these things almost always have sound or video issues. Either sound starts breaking up or getting choppy, or you get micro cut outs to the video. Have tried a few from Amazon including a Portta branded one (it was just sold as splitter though 4K@60Hz). They just seem to be cheap and can't cope. Would love to be able to find one that does a good job, even if having to pay a bit more for it.
