Hang on mini was before micro USB lolz, I'm sure I'm right 👍😁
Wouldn't directional mic be better? especially if ones fans on their pc is on the noisey side over using Cardioid (unidirectional) type? Don't know I'm no expert on mics, do directional desktop mics even exist, again I'm no expert 😉
Cardioid isn’t multi-directional, it’s what you want – you need to talk into the right side to make it work properly. I guess you misread “unidirectional” as omnidirectional, or it got edited or something
There are a ton of microphones still sold on the market with mini USB.
Great little Mic. However having a mini usb is annoying.
I bought one of these for teaching from home during the covid lockdowns. I've been very happy with it. Clear sound and headphones can be plugged directly into the back of it.
I had one of these for years. It’s great! You can buy a windsock off eBay for less than $5 allowing you to bring it closer to the face and not get hammered with breathing. I also removed the legs and attached a goose neck to it allowing free movement.
If it doesn't work out of the box, look up how to firmware update it.
Probably these already come updated depending on manufacture date. I had one for a long time and it didn't work with Win10 till I updated it, previously I was using it on Win7.
Otherwise, great mic, served me many years and no one has told me it sucks on the other end (my group is very vocal about informing you).
Another longtime user of this mic. It is a really good unit - solid (metal) body and really good sound. I had speakers plugged straight into it's headphone port for a true headphone free experience and zero feedback. The mic has a volume control for the speakers and a mute button. Mine was mounted onto a boom arm and resided above my monitor. My son now uses it although he prefers headphones plugged into it. He had an audio technical which he returned before commandeering my Sampson. The AT was good but picked up a lot of keyboard noise. Even without any software the Sampson is less sensitive to keyboard clanking but still has excellent voice pickup - I suspect the cardioid pattern is more unidirectional that the AT.
OK… it has a mini-USB but hey, once you plug it in who knows? It isn't like you can actually see it when you're talking into the mic ;)
How comparable is the sound quality to a Q2U? Loved that mic but the connector thingy ripped itself off
mini USB connector (yes, it is THAT old) and loud click when pressing mute button. Otherwise a very decent mic.
