At $2.50 per 15ml cartridge from eBay (non-genuine of course), as compared to a $120 CISS system (400mL total ink) from Rihac for an Epson NX430, which would be better?
The additional ink for the CISS system starts at $9 for 100mLs.
The printer itself costed $89 from DSE.
CISS vs eBay Ink?

Just to note, the other day I didn't use the colour printing for about 1.5 months, then when I use it, one of the colour seems clogged. Did the manual said, by doing head cleaning 5x (apparently to get rid of air bubbles in the stream), and everything back to normal.
As opposed to sometimes having to replace all cartridges in a similar situation. We were not impressed at spending $150 when our epson wanted 'feeding', then not having used it for a couple of months to find next time that they'd all dried up again.
i just hacked my HP B110a printer so that I can refill the original cartridges.
bought ink off ebay for $10 for 4 colours @ 30mls each. this is about 4 refills worth.
What kind of printing are you going to do mostly? And how often are you going to print?
I have a rihac CISS installed on my epson. Moderate use for printing b/w documents, coupons for ozbargain, quality is great. Certainly comparable to the genuine ink. Never tried printing proper photos though.

I've heard that about CISS before, that you have to do regular printing to avoid problems.
Have it for 1.5 years now, and I haven't needed to refill yet. Still have 1/4 tank left of black ink and 1/3 for colours.
Never tried non-genuine ink/cartridge before, so can't comment on that. But I think it will be more suitable for light volume printing. But I guess you can try the cartridge first and see if you happy with it, before deciding to get the CISS.
Good luck.
