Hello,
I am going to buy the cable to connect my device and I am confused about the types.
I'm not familiar with this, consider choosing CAT5e or CAT6.
I googled and saw the blog, is it true or not?

Can someone kindly advise me and also tell me the reason?
Thanks in advance.
CAT5e or CAT6
Comments
5e is able to handle up to 1Gbps.
The HUGE difference is that CAT 5e has a max throughput at the moment of 1GB and CAT6 has 10GB if you pay through the nose for 10GB network equipment.
For home 5E is used with the exception of people who do not use this web site and have more money than sense.
For business the cabling to the desks is normally 5E. CAT 6 is used in some server rooms and trunking where 10GB is required. For home 5E is used with the exception of people who do not use this web site and have more money than sense.
Enjoy the EXTREME SPEED of CAT7

Don't stop there, go CatD9 all the way
I first seen 10GB network equipment about 20 years ago and it's still not mainstream….
So do you have more money than sense?
It's weird that they are rolling out 2.5Gbps ports on new consumer devices now, the switches are still rather expensive. Only 2x 2.5gb ports on that router I linked the ad for too.
Now we just need to wait another 15yrs for the internet here to catch up.
Cat5e will be fine mate
CAT5e, also known as Category 5e or Category 5 Enhanced, can support Gigabit networks at segment distances up to 100 m.
CAT6 can do everything that CAT5E can do, but the only major difference is that: anywhere up to 55 meters, Cat6 cables can operate at up to 10Gbps
CAT6 cables are a little stiffer then CAT5e because the cables are individually shielded.
Most home routers and networking equipment (including the networking ports in your average laptop and desktop) usually max out at 1 Gigabit.
