Event description
"If you want to dance, my Count, I'll play the tune. With the art of hiding, the art of employing, over here fighting, over there joking, I will overturn every one of your plans."
It’s the morning of their wedding, and Susanna and Figaro are still at work.
Even better: their boss Count Almaviva is trying every means in his considerable power to prevent the wedding altogether - unless Susanna agrees to sleep with him.
The Count’s sidelined wife Rosina is at a loss for how to get her husband to respect her and their employees. But Figaro has a few ideas up his sleeve – and Susanna can beat him to the punch, backwards and in high-heels!
In a new staging by The Cooperative, Mozart, Da Ponte and Beaumarchais’ irrepressible comedy about love, politics, and gendered double-standards hasn’t been this relevant since it was written in 1786 - on the cusp of the French Revolution.
Dont need to be a genius to figar this is a decent deal
