  • this or oral b 2000?

This. Slightly steeper learning curve, but much gentler on the gums. And just as effective for brushing.

It’s like those ultrasonic jewellery cleaners.

    • I switched from Oral B to Sonicare, and prefer Sonicare. Just feels cleaner.

Might be that the Oral B I had wasn't a high-end unit though.

      • Yes you need oral b 8000 or 9000 and up to get the proper squeeky clean.

My lil bro got a 9000 genius last month and was immediately happy with the results. He came from the $49 woolworths oral b ones (think 500s or 1000s).

        • $200 for a toothbrush? no thanks

          • @[Deactivated]: I got it for $150 . Shave shop store on ebay 😉. Get an 8000 for around $120 if you keep watching for sales.

But in truth you need the top of range for the best cleans in phillips and oral b.

Steer away from this model, bought 2 sets from Costco and both have battery problem where it just stop charging, and the part where you insert into the brush head get rusty over a few months, have them replaced by Philips because issues happen within 12 months and now one of handle is weak even though is fully charged, one start to go rusty again.
Before this i have the Philips Sonicare HealthyWhite, lasted for 6 years without the rust issues, replaced because ultrasonic vibration is getting weak after 6 years and the Sonicare 2 series is cheaper.

I will never buy this Sonicare 2 Series again.

    • Have you tried claiming warranty?

      • Yes, once within 12 months if the warranty period. Don’t think you get 12 months the warranty on the replacement so didn’t claim them again.
The fact that it is a recurring problem I think it is not a good quality toothbrush
